Treadmills are number one favored home fitness equipment according to fitness experts. Almost anyone who is interested to get in shape or stay fit are interested or considering to use or own a treadmill, this is because they are easy to use and almost anybody regardless their age and fitness level can either walk or run on a treadmill without trouble.

These treadmills are very affordable as well. They usually cost around $100, so if you want a treadmill but cannot afford a motorized treadmill, these are perfect for you. There are not as many manual models available, but it is not that difficult to find them. Many retail stores sell manual treadmills and you can also find them on several websites that sell home fitness equipment.

There are some problems with these treadmills though; it can be difficult to get up to a good speed. With some models the only way to get to a good speed is to increase the incline, but after you increase the incline you cannot lower it unless you get off the treadmill. Also, these models are less convenient than motorized treadmills. When you are thinking about purchasing a manual treadmill you should really weigh the pros and cons and decide if a manual treadmill is the best option for you.

The faster you run, the faster the belt spins, letting you reach whatever speed is comfortable. At the same time, the treadmill isn’t completely low tech, as it offers a single-button electronics display that tracks your speed, distance, time, and calories.

Manual treadmills are cheaper because of its limited features and the strain it will put on your knees and hips joints. Exercising with it for long time might cause you all sorts of joint problems in the long run since you have to use your legs to move the belts.
