Buying a suit for the big and tall man can be quite challenging. Information on what looks good on larger men will not be found in your local GQ magazine. Marketers tend to shy away from creating adds with large men in them and the challenge continues.

I wrote this article to let larger men in on the secret to buying a suit that fits properly. The key to wearing a suit for any man is to find something that accentuates the positive attributes and eliminates the negative ones this article will teach you how to do this.

The three types of suit styles that we must look at are the Italian, British, and American styles. Each of these suits have different characteristics that can benefit the big man and make him look his best. Read up on each style and decide which one fits you the best.

The Italian suit is double breasted and does not have any vents. This type of suit has wide lapels and can make a mans chest look even broader. A few modifications to this suit will have it looking great on even the largest men.

The key to making the Italian style suit look great on a larger man is to make it more streamlined. Buy a double breasted suit with smaller lapels and a single vent in the back. This modified version will leave the great concealing quality the double breasted jacket gives and yet will give the wearer more mobility and a more streamlined look up top.

British suits come in three button models and have two vents on the back. Shoulders are broad and thick with padding with average sized lapels cutting through the chest. The pants are pleated and cuffed in traditional English fashion.

Wearing this suit will cover up most of the midsection and make a more pear shaped man look more muscular than just obese. This suit should be modified to a single vent in the back to make the jacket look less thick.

American style suits are two buttoned models with a single vent in the back. These suits have flat front pants and lack cuffs at the bottom.

Buy a model with a higher neckline if possible. This will close the gap that is left by only having one button and hide as much of the stomach as possible.

These tips should provide you with a good foundation of suit buying knowledge. Use what you have learned today to make the most out of your wardrobe.

Lap Band surgery for weight loss is quickly becoming a viable option for overweight people in Toronto and elsewhere. Several Toronto Lap Band surgery clinics offer the procedure, which involves a constrictive band being placed around one’s stomach, limiting its size and therefore the amount of food one is physically able to eat. If you think Lap Band surgery may be the appropriate weight loss option for you, there is a multitude of information that will help you know what to expect and help you determine whether it is in fact right for you. Below are some guidelines concerning how Lap Band surgery will affect your eating habits and what you can expect to eat following weight loss surgery.

Week 1

Immediately following your CIBO Clinic Lap Band surgery your nutritional intake will consist of only liquids. During this stage, your stomach will only tolerate thin liquids. Depending on which Toronto Lap Band clinic you select, as well as several other factors, you will consume only liquids from 3 days up to an entire week and a half after the procedure takes place. Liquids that can be consumed during this phase include water, fruit juices, milk (but only skim milk), chicken or beef broth, sugar free popsicles, etcetera.

Week 2 (or 3)

Following the all-liquid diet that must be adhered to in the days after Lap Band surgery, you will be eating only pureed foods. You can expect to eat only pureed foods for about two weeks following the all-liquid phase of the post-Lap Band surgery diet. These foods may be provided by your Toronto Lap Band surgery clinic or prepared at home. During this stage, you can still expect your dietary intake to be monitored closely by your doctor and her staff. This is the post-Lap Band surgery stage where you begin to introduce slightly textured foods. The consistency you will be looking for in acceptable foods is similar to that of baby food. During this phase focus on eating foods rich in proteins first, then move on to vegetables and fruits. You will be able to eat foods richer in calories during this stage than later stages, because the focus at this point is on transition rather than weight loss. Below is a list of some pureed foods that are acceptable pureed foods:

- Pureed, skinless low fat meats such as chicken and fish - Thin mashed potatoes without butter - Pureed or mashed peas - Low fat yogurt - Low fat pudding

Week 4 (or 5)

After successfully completing the eating stage where only pureed foods are allowed, you will be ready to transition to soft foods that contain a bit more substance. During this stage, you will begin to introduce tender foods such as flaky fish and ground turkey. Since you will be able to chew at this point, make sure that you chew each bite thoroughly. If you do not chew your food enough, you may be susceptible to vomiting, stomach irritation and swelling. Foods such as bread, red meat and rice may cause problems as they are more difficult to digest. If the foods you are eating cause nausea or vomiting, you may need to go back to the liquid diet for a few days.

Regular Eating

After going through the aforementioned phases of post-Lap Band surgery eating, you will begin to transition into eating regular foods again. The rate at which you are able to introduce different foods into your diet will be unique to you and depend on how your body is handling the transition. Make sure you are in constant communication with your Lap Band Clinic, doctor or dietitian with regards to eating advice that is specific to you.

Hunger is our body signal to warn us that it need energy. It is a good thing when it occurs in that respect. However It can be a negative signal when it make us eat more than we should that is overeating. If we do not control all this, at the end of the day, this will result in weight gain for us. In fact one of the, most difficult challenges facing most people when trying to lose weight is to control their hunger. Only once you have learn to control your hunger urges will you be on your first steps to a successful weight loss plan.

1. Appetite suppressants: People often ask me whether appetite suppressants really work or not. Truth to be told, I have found from my research that most of them don′t work at all! Plus many of the popular appetite suppressants can have harmful side effects on your body. The only appetite suppressant I would recommend is Hoodia, firstly because it is completely natural (being made form the Hoodia cactus), and secondly, it has worked for me! I would recommend that you stay way from any diet pill that contains caffeine or any other stimulants!

Hoodia is available in pill format or powdered form. To my knowledge, I find the powdered type to be more suitable for me and also more effective. It is easier for our body to absorb the powdered type than pill type actually. Just take one teaspoonful of Hoodia powder and mix it with one cu of water and lemon juice. For most people, the taste of the detox drink leaves a lot of room for improvement. I had to compel myself to gulp it down.

Even though the formulation tasted horrible, You will be able to to on fasting for days and not feel any hunger at all. This is because the Hoodia, really suppress your hunger pangs.

2.View positively about hunger pangs. It is not any form of Punishment or something that you should dread. They are just signals that your body is reacting with the detox drink and is slowly purging all the harmful toxins out from your body system. Once all the toxins are purged, weight loss will follow naturally.

Learn to control your hunger pangs for 2 weeks approximately. Do not fast for too long. You will end up being anorexic which is also bad for your health. Instead maintain a balance and discipline yourself. You should make a point to in the end change your lifestyle after you have reached the ideal weight that you aimed to reach. Otherwise, what you lost in terms of weight will return if you do not change your eating habits.

Walking on a treadmill is by far one of the easiest ways to get in shape. Treadmills are the choice of many beginning exercisers because the machines are so accommodating. The same machine that you use in the beginning when you are just walking can be the same machine that you are running on months down the road.

One of the main reasons that people opt for walking on a treadmill, instead of going somewhere to walk or walking outside, is having your own treadmill takes away exercise excuses. You can′t blame Mother Nature for not working out, and you can′t say you are too tired to travel to your walking destination, when a treadmill is in your home. Another reason many people purchase their own personal treadmills is they can workout when it’s convenient to them-day or night.

One question that many people who start walking on a treadmill have is how much time they should walk. The answer to this question is purely individual based upon your fitness condition. Professionals say that a person should try to walk at least a half hour to an hour at a pace that is at 50-70 percent of their maximum heart rate.

To get your approximate maximum heart rate you simply have to apply the formula of 220 minus your age. Let’s say you are 35 years old, then you would take 220 minus 35 and you would get 185. Fifty to seventy percent of that is 93-130. According to the expert guidelines, your goal should be to keep your heart rate between 93-130 beats per minute throughout your workout.

If this sounds too difficult for you, don′t panic. Simply cut those minutes into blocks. It may be easier for you to walk on your treadmill three times a day for ten minutes. The most important thing is that you try to walk every day, or as many days as you can out of the week and to keep your heart rate in that 50-70 percent zone during your workouts.

It won′t take long before you will start to see results from walking on a treadmill. Your routine will start to become easier-and when it does it’s time to increase your walking intensity. As your endurance increases, so will your maximum heart rate. To make walking on a treadmill work for you, try to keep your heart rate within 60 to 70 percent of your maximum heart rate. This will ensure that your fitness and cardiovascular system continues to increase, too.

No matter how young or old you are, or what health condition you may be in, it is never too late to start walking on a treadmill. It is easy to get healthy and fit with treadmills because they are made to be personalized. Treadmills are much like personal trainers. Their display windows can monitor your walking speed, length, calories burned, your heart rate and more. They are great exercise machines for someone just beginning to exercise and for the more advanced person who jogs or run-which could be you before you know it!

Understanding What is Drug Addiction and What is Alcoholism

Do you ask yourself the questions, ‘what is alcoholism or what is drug addiction really?’ because you really want to understand the nature of addiction?

You first need to know that alcoholism and drug addiction are fairly complex so if you are one of those people looking to understand them, please keep reading.

The kind of things you would need to know to understand them in depth, would include things like whether drug addiction and alcoholism is a disease, the causes of alcoholism and addiction, and the genetic/hereditary impact on addiction and alcoholism.

It does help knowing all that information, but I want to take it a step deeper first, to really help your understanding.

Having an alcoholic or drug addict parent who has passed down the addiction gene to you may increase your chances of going the same way, or you may simply find the stresses of life getting you down so alcohol or drugs have become your comfort, but there is still fundamentally a deeper reason at play.

An emptiness and lack of wholeness are what I believe are the underlying reasons you use drugs or alcohol. I know the feeling because I′ve been there. You wonder what your purpose is, you feel disconnected from people - from life.

Andrew Weil, M.D., summarises it brilliantly in his book Natural Health, Natural Medicine. ‘Addiction is NOT a psychological or pharmacological problem, and CANNOT be solved by the methods of psychology or pharmacology. It is, at root, a SPIRITUAL concern, because it represents a misdirected attempt to achieve wholeness, to experience inner completeness and satisfaction.’

So if you really question, what is alcoholism and what is drug addiction? Know that they are in essence a Spiritual ‘problem’ first and foremost. And by keeping that in mind you will go a long way to overcoming them successfully.
