Here are 7 things to do if you want to lose weight.

1) Limit your intake of food: If your goal is to lose weight, you will need to be aware of the amount of calories you eat every day. If you think that you can lose weight and eat whatever you want…you are dreaming. Burn more calories than you eat and you will be a step closer to your weight loss goal.

2) Weight training: Weight training is probably one of the most important aspect to help you lose weight. The metabolism get faster by regular weight training and you then burn more fat when you are at rest.

3) Limiting the starchy food: Food like potatoes, rice, bread and pasta are good to give you energy. When your diet is compose of to many of these foods the body will deposit the excess calories as fat. Especially if their is a lack of activity.

4) Do cardio in the morning: Try to do your cardio on an empty stomach. By doing this you start tapping in your fat reserves faster than doing cardio at other times during the day.

5) Drink 8 to 12 cups of water a day: Water as many benefits. It is essential for weight loss and help to flush out dangerous toxins. It also as no calories, so instead of drinking fruit juice or pepsi, drink water. You should aim for at least 8 to 12 cups a day.

6) Train with a group of people: Training with a group can get you very result. You will be able to help and motivate each others in attaining your mutual goal. I recommend you join an exercise group of your choice like pilates, yoga or aqua fitness.

7) Have a specific goal: It will be easier to lose weight if you have a specific goal. i recommend you write down on a piece of paper what kind of physique you would like, be very specific. Write the actual numbers you want. Like “26 inches waist within 12 months”. Read this piece of paper every day and you will start to focus more on your goal.

If you want cheap maternity clothes that are in great condition, then don’t forget to hit the consignment shops. You may also find that some of the best places to find maternity clothes are the shops that focus on gear for kids.

The designer shops that sell all the over priced maternity wear, have given rise to lots of cool and trendy online designer stores. They sell highly fashionable, yet cheap maternity wear.

It’s unfortunate that most of the clothes in maternity speciality shops are far too expensive for the average mom. What’s even more ironic is that you’ll only need to wear maternity clothes for a few months. If you are taller or smaller than average in height you can find it hard to get good fitting maternity clothes.

If you are extremely tall you may want to look into Beanpole Bump’s trousers. And bear in mind you can find many casual and stretch items in shops no way relaeted to maternity wear.

In reality most mums to be don’t want to spend huge amounts on their maternity clothes. But most will want to get cheap maternity clothes that look good and offer comfort. Well made itrems are also a must, as no woman wants to wear something that could pop open at the seams.

Another important consideration is whether you want to wear items that you can dress up in as well as casual items for getting around in. Many women still want to look fabulous throughout their pregnancy. There is a company called Picchu which designs gorgeous maternity clothes that can be worn from the start to the end and even after your pregnancy. While it is known medical fact that there are a few conditions that can cause a person to gain weight like thyroid or hormone problems, by far the biggest contributor to weight gain is too much food. If your weight seems to have gone out of control it’s time you learn something about weight loss food.

Weight loss using the right foods will help you if it is great health and a fantastic shape you are seeking as many of them actively help the reduction of body fat formation. Weight loss foods do not have to be mundane because that is the surest way for someone to become bored and stop eating healthily.

Most people can enjoy pasta meals but other main dishes that contain certain green vegetables like cabbage, peas, boiled beans and brussels are also excellent weight loss foods. Spaghetti meals that have tomato sauce and meats like veal which is low in fat content mean that you can enjoy your food without feeling guilty.

Many meals highlight the combination of steamed white fish and vegetables a healthy low calorie option and you can even add mashed potatoes to this mix without worrying about calories. Weight loss foods also include the likes of cream cheese (low fat variety), rice (dark), porridge oats and any of the varieties of yoghurt.

Fruit is also a weight loss food while providing many essential minerals and nutrients but they are also good for the health of the metabolism. Fruits like kiwi, strawberries and water melons are also good if you are pursuing a weight loss food program. People who exercise regularly should not need to worry too much about the high calorie content of figs and bananas but they are not an ideal weight loss food although grapes are. Vegetables that can help with weight loss (as they are primarily water) but are very healthy are the likes of celery, cucumber, lettuce and tomatoes.

What should also be obvious is the omissions made here like sandwiches, fast food and sweet things like cakes are all going to cause problems and are in no way considered weight loss foods. Many foods that we enjoy like mayonnaise, dark chocolate, ice-cream and even cookies are being made in low fat versions that still retain a flavor almost as good as the full fat versions. However, you will still need to check the ingredients on the packaging as some of these may not be the ideal foods to eat if you are on a certain diet.

Along with finding and performing the right love handles exercises you will also need to improve your dietary intake of calories if you intend on getting noticable results in a reasonable time frame. Although the exercises you use will help to tone and firm up the muscles in the mid section of the body it is the amount of calories that you consume that will insure that the fat is removed.

It is crucial that you are consistently performing between 2 and 5 different types of abdominal exercises at least twice a week in order to help eliminate those love handles and to tone and firm up the muscles. These exercises will train the muscles so that they will become stronger and in turn improve the appearance of the waist. But don’t forget the importance of the calories you take in each day. These two factors combined can produce fantastic results.

I’d like to give you a few more suggestions to carry out the kinds of abdominal exercises conducive to reducing the size of your waist. Regardless of which exercise you are performing, remember that abdominals require more repetitions then other body parts when working out. It is important that as you become more efficient at doing the exercises, that you alter their speed so that the body does not adapt to your routine and stagnate your progress. When you first start out do them slowly and deliberately. A few exercises that you may want to try in order to get rid of those love handles you have are as follows:-

1. Basic Crunch Exercise - This works on the wide flat muscle which runs from the breastbone down to the top of the pelvis and is referred to as the rectus abdominis. You need to lie on the floor with your feet apart (same width as your hips) with your your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Now cradle your head in your hands. I prefer to lace my fingers and make sure that your elbows are at least rounded slightly inwards or pointing toward the ceiling. Then tilt your chin just a fraction towards your chest and pull those abdominal muscles in. Now as you curl your head, neck and shoulders up and off the floor exhale through your mouth and remain at the top of this movement for a moment before slowly lowering yourself down once more to the floor. Remember to inhale as you do this part of the exercise.

2. Twist Crunch - This exercise is designed for improving the condition of the rectus abdominis muscle and also the external and internal oblique muscles that wrap around your waist. As with the basic crunch exercise lay on the floor, feet apart and hands behind your head. Then as you begin to raise your neck, head and shoulders off the floor, twist them and your body towards the left breathing out as you do this movement. Hold for several seconds before lowering yourself back down to the floor and breathing in. Now you need to repeat this exercise again but this time you twist your body to the right. When doing this particular love handle exercise make sure that you are not just twisting your elbows but your neck, shoulders and head also. The only way you can really be able to tone and firm up the muscles that surround your waist and stomach is to concentrate as you do each exercise and make sure that you twist your body from the middle with this particular one.

Have you ever seen someone purposely suck their stomach muscles in to instantly become like an “after″ picture? Here’s a tip that you can use anytime, anywhere. Doing that actually is helpful. Now if you have ever done it before you should know that there are degrees to it. If you suck it in as far as you can, it can be very uncomfortable. And the longer you hold it there the more uncomfortable it becomes. But if you get in the habit of holding it in to a point where it is not all that uncomfortable, you’ll actually be training those muscles and over time it will become increasingly more comfortable for you to hold that position. And you will not only look better and feel better, but your posture will improve. This can also work against you if you allow those muscles to be completely undisciplined and hang out as if your competing to have the largest beer belly in the neighborhood.

Next, pay attention to your self talk. Everything you say to yourself is being recorded in your subconscious mind and is creating and recreating your self image. Even when you don’t do so well find something positive to tell yourself. If you only did half of what you intended to do, tell yourself well that’s better than nothing. And when you do nothing, tell yourself “That’s not like me. I’ll do better next time”.

One of my favorite books is by James Allen called “As a Man Thinketh″. Your thinking will determine your success so make sure you stay positive. Here’s a quote from the book. “The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the orders of the mind whether they be deliberate or automatic”.

Diabetes - It CAN Be Controlled!

Introduction:

Diabetes is a disease that affects how the body utilizes glucose (say: gloo-kose), a sugar that is the body’s main source of fuel. It is a chronic disease that needs close attention, but with some practical information, you can become your most important ally in learning to live with the condition.

“The prevalence of diabetes is increasing because obesity is increasing,” says Judith Fradkin, director of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. Normally, the first step in treatment is to make patients understand that this is a condition that can be effectively controlled. “The amount of money it will cost in ten years to manage diabetes is going to bust the economies of many countries″ says institute president Paul Robertson.

Diabetes, caused by the body’s inability to produce or use insulin effectively to prevent a buildup of sugar in the blood, now afflicts nearly 21 million in the USA and roughly 250 million worldwide. It is a condition that can also cause long-term complications in some people, including heart disease, stroke, vision impairment, kidney damage and can also cause other problems in the blood vessels, nerves, and gums.

Blood:

During the past decade, medical studies have shown that by reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol and keeping blood sugar levels as close to normal as possible, diabetics can forestall many of the disabling complications that once seemed inevitable.

“This knowledge, along with simpler, more accurate blood tests and better medicines, has improved treatment”, says Buse, an endocrinologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. “New drug treatments, more accurate methods for monitoring blood sugar levels and assessing control of diabetes, and practical steps that patients can use are more common than ever”, she says. “Until 1993, it wasn’t clear that reducing blood sugar prevented or delayed complications, and it’s only within the past decade that physicians learned that managing blood pressure and cholesterol reduced complications″, she says.

Types:

There are two primary kinds of diabetes: type 1, an autoimmune disease that results in loss of the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas and occurs most often in children or young adults, who need daily insulin shots and type 2, which accounts for 90% of diabetes cases and is associated with obesity and inactivity and decreases the body’s ability to use insulin effectively.

Type 1 diabetes (formerly named insulin-dependent diabetes or juvenile diabetes) occurs when the patient’s own immune system attacks and destroys the cells of the pancreas that create insulin. Type 1 diabetes happens at about the same rate in men and women, but it is more common in Caucasians than in minorities.

Type 2 diabetes (formerly called non-insulin-dependent diabetes) is different. It is the most common type of diabetes and about 9 out of 10 people with diabetes have type 2 diabetes. It is more common in older people, mainly in people who are overweight.

Conclusion:

The best way to prevent diabetes is through lifestyle changes and maintaining a normal weight.
