Rheumatoid arthritis afflicts millions of people and can significantly reduce one’s quality of life. The early symptoms for rheumatoid arthritis include pain, redness and swelling in the small joints (typically the hands and/or feet) on both sides of the body.

Be that as it may, one thing is for sure, and that is that, rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where the body’s own immune system attacks itself. Though medical knowledge till now is rather limited about the abnormal immune system response, it has at least been established that cells of the immune system travel freely all over the body through the bloodstream resulting a non-localized disease condition. The manifestation thus starts with one joint first, then spreading to other joints. Instances of sudden inflammation and pain in different joints simultaneously are not uncommon though.

Symptoms for rheumatoid arthritis can differ from individual to individual, and there is no single test for diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis. The most common complaint heard by medical practitioners is the daily joint pain and the significant level of pain, both of which can adversely impact your quality of life and ability to take care of even the most basic daily tasks.

If early warning signs can be identified before the common symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis appear, then doctors may be able to prevent the disease from progressing to the point where joint deformity occurs. But, much research is still necessary before this can happen. Currently doctors are only able to make a confirmed diagnosis after the early symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis appear.

Rheumatoid arthritis occurs in a symmetrical pattern, for example if the right knee is affected, then the left knee will be affected also. Although it is quite common for an individual to be more inflamed and affected than another. Extreme fatigue, weight loss, fever, swollen, red and warm joints and an overall feeling of malaise are common symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Some less common symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include: inflammation of the lining around the heart and lungs, inflammation of the tear and salivary glands, and in rare cases, general inflammation of the lungs and blood vessels. While the early symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are confined to the joints, other systems of the body can also be affected, particularly if it is not treated.

Since rheumatoid arthritis is caused by the whole-body immune reaction to a problem that is localized, it can affect any joint/joints irrespective of the fact that they are weight-bearing or not. Also, it usually affects the smaller joints like the hands, balls of the feet, wrists or elbows. But there are quite a few exceptions to this.

Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms typically come and go, sometimes over a person’s entire lifespan, and they may range from non-existent or mild to moderate or severe. Different drugs and treatments may be prescribed depending on the severity of the rheumatoid arthritis symptoms and the stage of progression of the disease.

Research has proven that diets containing no carbs, or even a few carbs, can assist in weight loss actually, these diets may work better than those which require a reduction in fat grams. Are you aware of the negative side effects of these types of diets?

So will cutting carbs help me lose weight? First you have to understand that not all carbs are created the same. They have all been banded together but some carbs are necessary for a healthy and fulfilled lifestyle. So how do you tell a good carb from a bad one? Well. lets go back to basics. There are two basic types of carbohydrates: Firstly the Sugars, which are known as a simple carbohydrate. Secondly the Starches, which are known as complex carbohydrates.

These carbs take time to be digested, that’s the big difference. Simple carbohydrates are digested rapidly, whereas digestion takes place more slowly for complex carbohydrates.

A lot of these simple carbohydrates come from processed foods such as pizza, chocolate, cakes, foods that contain or more accurately have added sugars. These will give you a quick burst of energy. Misunderstood by many is the fact that you can get the same results by eating apples, bananas, grapes, raisins. Simple carbs but much healthier because they contain other nutrients and vitamins needed by the body.

When you go on low to no carb diets, it actually means that you stop taking in carbohydrates, it’s good since you won’t get fat, but as the matter of fact, each individual should have at least 45% - 65% of carbohydrate which varies independently.

Ketosis is a metabolic disorder resulting from the body being starved of carbohydrates over a period of time. In the event your body is too weak to endure this type of low to no carb diet, you will feel fatigued lacking energy to perform most tasks, and may also cause loss of sleep. But, regaining your weight only needs high carbohydrate foods, just increase your consumption on these foods, like rice and potato, and surely you will have that weight again.

Just picture this cycle as you read. You will need to compensate the weight loss with the low energy level. Your body cannot sustain extremely low carb diets on a long term basis, and if you continue to follow their strict regulations you will find your health negatively affected, eventually leaving you in poor health.

So will cutting carbs help me lose weight? Only if you reduce the correct type of carbohydrate from your diet together with some other changes then cutting carbs can help you lose weight.

What body shape are you?

Contrary to what many clothing manufacturers seem to believe, not all women are the same shape. Knowing your shape and dressing for it is one of the keys to looking and feeling great. Anyone can look good, no matter what their shape, if they know how to dress for it. Fortunately, some manufacturers have begun to recognize this fact and are making clothes to suit more than one shape. Here are the four basic shapes, and how to tell which group you belong to.

The Straight Body (also known as the banana shape)

Women with a straight figure have little difference between their bust, hip, and waist measurements. They often find that garments are too large in the bust, hips, and thighs, and have trouble finding clothes that flatter without being too tight in one area or too loose in another. Empire gowns are often flattering, and can help draw attention to the upper body. Detailing and patterns can help break up your shape, preventing a “rectangle″ or boxy look.

Pear (also called the spoon or bell shapes)

Women with pear shaped bodies are larger in the hips and thighs, and generally have smaller busts than waists giving an appearance of a larger bottom half to the body. Items of clothing such as fitted jeans or slim skirts are not best suited to this shape. Garments which hug the hip and thigh areas should be avoided at all costs. When selecting dresses a fitted bodice with a fuller skirt looks good. Detailing on tops will help to give emphasis to the upper part of the body.

The Apple Shaped Body

Apple shaped women tend to have thick waists and large rib cages. They may be small or large busted, but they generally have narrower hips and accumulate weight in the chest, shoulders, arms and abdomen first. They may have relatively slender legs. Women who are apple shaped may wish to avoid wide necklines and garments with a lot of trim around the neck and shoulders, since these can accentuate a broad upper body. If wearing a skirt, look for a fuller style to help provide balance.

The Hourglass Shaped Body

Hourglass shaped women are thought of as lucky by many, but they have just as many problems finding off the rack clothes that fit because of their comparatively broad hips and chests. Few clothes that fit in these regions have a small enough waist. Many clothes that fit elsewhere are tight in the hips and bust. Try to find clothes that accentuate your waist, and be willing to have them altered if you need to. Sometimes, moving a button can make a shirt fit better. Avoid a lot of heavy decoration, because it can make you look a lot heavier.

Dressing to suit your body shape is an important part of looking good. It′ll also help you feel better, and give you more confidence. If shopping has been a nightmare so far, it doesn’t have to be.

Carry out an on line search and you will find many national and international retailers with items of clothing to fit all body shapes. See just what they have on offer and say goodbye to buying and wearing clothes which do not fit you properly for good.
