Hair loss happens, and it is pretty much a fact of life for men and women. Not everyone will experience premature hair loss, or even significant hair loss. For those of us that are not as lucky, hair loss is bound to happen. But why does it happen? Several key factors play a role in why you are losing your hair.

One of the main reasons we lose hair is due to stress. Being tired, stressed, under pressure, and having a million things to worry about effects your hair and body drastically. You may notice a spike in testosterone, or a loss of certain hormones. Your body starts to work a bit slower when stressed, and things get out of control internally. As a result, your outer body such as your hair, begins to lose nutrients and proteins that it needs. You can prevent this by doing yoga, running, or any sort of activity.

If you are constantly feeding your body junk food, you are likely to experience hair loss. Not now necessarily, but at some point in time. If you continue your bad eating habits, then your hair is more likely to be weak and brittle. You truly are what you eat, and your hair feels the repercussions from your diet. You should take a multi-vitamin and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables to prevent future hair loss due to diet related issues.

If you were recently prescribed a medication of some sort and started experiencing hair loss, go to your doctor, or read the side effects lists. Many medicines cause hair to fall out, and it will stop shortly after you discontinue the medicine.

Genetics is also a major key ingredient in hair loss. If someone on your mothers side, female especially, has hair loss, you might have it too. However the gene could have skipped you altogether. Regardless, your genetics cannot be changed. If you have hair loss due to your family history then medications and hair loss products can help.

Environmental factors will play a role in your hair loss, and if you are always exposed to sun your hair is at great risk. The sun produces damaging rays that can not only hurt your skin, and eyes, but it has been shown to damage hair follicles and strip it of oils and other important things. This can all be prevented by using sun block specially formulated for hair and always wear a hat if you will be outside for a prolonged amount of time.

How often do we feel that what we are overpaying for certain necessities? If you’re like most people you probably feel that way when it comes to your health? Health is a major concern in everyone’s life. In the United States we spend over $2.1 trillion on health care. The large generation of baby boomers is reaching the retirement age and they are concern about their health. There is about 76 million born between the years 1946 and 1964.

More than a quarter of most adults suffers from back and/or neck pain. About one third of Americans pay more when they get sick than people in other Western nations and get more confused, error-prone treatment, according to the largest survey to compare U.S. health care with other nations. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that nearly 8,000 people turn 60 each day.

Why is so important to take care of our health?

Unfortunately, these days we are expose to free radicals. A free radical is an unstable incomplete molecule missing an electron which exists in pair in stable molecules. Free radicals are harmful and toxic molecules of oxygen that damage every area of our bodies. Free radicals steal an electron from another molecule, and creates another free radical. And they keep reproducing themselves resulting in a chain reaction of events, which can ultimately damage the body. Free radicals can cause damage to parts of cells such as proteins, DNA, and cell membranes by stealing their electrons through a process called oxidation. Free radicals may cause heart damage, cancer, cataracts, and a weak immune system.

The good news is that there is still time to turn your health around and in a simple way…

By having antioxidants in our daily routine we can fight free radicals and recover our health. An antioxidant is a phytonutrient that prevents or delays oxidation. They prevent rancid tastes and odors from developing in foods containing fat. An antioxidant is most helpful when it spots a “free radical” (a molecule which has an unpaired electron). An antioxidant neutralizes the free radical by supplying the missing electron and forming a complete pair. Once the free radical is neutralized, it is no longer reactive.Antioxidants fight cancer by neutralizing DNA-damaging free radicals. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals as the natural by-product of normal cell processes. Antioxidants prevent injury to blood vessel membranes, helping to optimize blood flow to the heart and brain, defend against cancer-causing DNA damage, and help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease and dementia, including Alzheimer’s

Prostate Cancer Research Foundation - What’s the latest?

There are certain issues that pertain to the males of our world, as there are issues that typically pertain to females. If your considering cancer let’s say, then for women it is breast cancer. Breast cancer is not exclusively found in women though, men can also have it.

With men, the cancer most commonly thought about is prostrate cancer. It is more likely that this would be the central topic of conversation amongst a group of men nowadays, with increasing numbers affected by this condition.

If we are honest, it’s the cure we are interested in and preferably how to prevent it but this requires a good deal of research.

I have no problem admitting that I worry about cancer. Having said that it’s not a subject that is on my mind every moment of the day. Most of the time it does not enter my mind, it’s usually only when I hear someone mention it or see an article on the condition. If you watch television, you will see so many ads concerning breast cancer for women and prostate cancer for men.

We want an end to cancer because it is still one of the worst conditions known to man. The fact that you cannot inoculate against it or avoid it completely makes it an awful adversary.

I say this specifically about cancer because it’s one illness that cannot be fully prevented. Ok, so you can do all the right things, have the correct diet and exercise, don’t smoke etc. but that doesn’t mean you won’t get it.

You can take precautions against many other conditions and that includes HIV, but this doesn’t happen with cancer. Other than some poor individuals that have contracted HIV through no fault of their own, you are not generally at risk from it.

It’s interesting to read current articles concerning cancer and other health afflictions. What other way is there to keep up to date on possible treatments for prostrate and breast cancer?

I’m sure all this prostrate cancer research will finally find a cure and will all have been worth it.
