The economic downturn has made many consumers reevaluate the way they spend money on work uniforms. Workers want to save money on their business suits, but still want to look good for work.

Discounted prices on suits, blazers, and even collared shirts can be found at every turn, but only if you know where to look. Read this article and you will be one of the people that know where to look.

Traditionally I have told people to move past the department stores and specialty shops and move towards e commerce, thrift stores, yard sales, and estate sales. This still holds true in some cases but not all.

Searching the local Sunday newpaper has become a great way to find nice local deals at department stores. Your local Sears or Macy’s department store can be a great place to find slashed prices.

Store closings are another great place to find fantastic deals. Companies like S&K menswear are starting to close some of their less profitable stores and are giving their suits out at rock bottom prices.

When searching for local used clothing a great place to start is craigslist.com. This website will list many local places and may even have pictures and descriptions of the items so you won’t have to leave your house on a chance.

Discounts can be found all over the country in places like Goodwill and the Salvation Army. These places sell a large array of clothing and other items at steep discounts. Buy a suit that is your size, or close enough to be tailored to your size, and you will save money.

Shopping online does more than give you the instant gratification of a nice suit purchase. They also have lower operating costs than your typical store and can pass the savings directly down to their consumers.
