For example you should find somewhere quiet to sit and then begin to inhale and exhale very slowly and very deeply. Using this technique not only are you helping to focus your mind and so prevent the negative thoughts from taking control, but also you are bringing order in to your body once more. A panic attack can lead to chemical and hormonal imbalances which further exacerbate the condition.

Of course it is important that as you do the breathing that you accept the feelings that you are having for what they are and this will help you to learn to deal with them more effectively. The breathing also helps the attack to run its course much more quickly.

Another thing you could do is make a list of things that make you feel happier and so much calmer and more relaxed. Then whenever you feel an attack taking place look at this list and allow your mind to focus on it so that you are preventing your mind from then focusing on the negative aspects. Again this will help you to bring your attack under control a lot more quickly.

Using Witch Hazel As An Anti Aging Cream

In years gone, Indian tribes used Witch Hazel for medicinal purposes. These days, it is one of a handful of medicinal treatments that are allowed to be used by the Federal Drug Administration. Of course, there are other herbal extracts permitted as dietary supplements, but witch hazel is one of just a select few that are still allowed as topical treatments. It was widely used for ailments such as hemorrhoids, insect bites and stings, skin ulcers, tumors, boils and other rashes like chiggers or poison ivy.

Witch Hazel, is native to America and Europe and its medicinal qualities have made it highly valued over the years. Some early treatments involved it’s branches and flowers being steamed and the results mixed with alcohol then used for astringents and topical medication. Nowadays, its uses vary greatly from mouthwashes (using distilled witch hazel) to anti-aging creams and anti wrinkle creams (using witch hazel oil). Some witch hazel formulas have been used by home remedy skin care products, which claim to work as a skin anti-aging process.

In those anti aging treatments, it is particularly useful because it has been found to have capillary constricting effects that reduce inflammation. It also has topical antioxidant properties and is considered a safe, affordable home remedy. Witch Hazel Oil is cheap and can be purchased for under a couple dollars in the pharmacy section of most retail stores. It is a very useful ingredient in skin care lines, specifically anti aging creams and anti wrinkle creams, where it may be found in a more concentrated level and promotes cell turnover as well as cell moisturizing by using the oil concentrates to moisterize the skin cells, keeping them plump and hydrated.

Witch Hazel is native to New York and Connecticut and these regions still supply much of the witch hazel today. After many years studying with Oneida Indian medicine men, Theron Pond was astounded by the healing powers and decided to sell the extract using the name of Golden Treasure. The company moved location several times and after the death of Theron Pond, established in Connecticut using the name “Pond’s extract”.

Witch Hazel production is still common around Connecticut where it is one of the leading manufacturing areas dealing in Witch Hazel extract today. The harvesting still goes on in Northwestern Connecticut, land owners cut the Witch Hazel every few years, so that they can re-branch and sell to the many distributors, who then distill the product for pharmaceutical uses.

Witch Hazel is an antioxidant, radiation protective and anti-inflammatory. It is also an approved astringent and external analgesic. It has internal medicinal benefits also. It’s benefits speaks for themselves, so it is natural that it is an ingredient in anti-aging creams and anti wrinkle creams.

If you′re keen on keeping track of your fitness activity, especially your distance, time and number of steps, then sooner or later you′ll end up thinking about a pedometer watch. Before you decide which one you′re going to buy, here are a few things you should look for.

1. Think about accuracy. If you′re not too worried about the accuracy of your times, distances ..etc, then you′ll have more pedometers to choose from. More accurate pedometer watches are fewer on the ground so you′ll be slightly more limited in your options.

2. Does it use one of the more modern sensor mechanism? This will affect accuracy too, so make sure you′re not getting a pedometer that uses the old type technology. Keep an eye out for mention of accelerometer and you′ll be safe.

3. It might sound obvious, but make sure the pedometer can tell the difference between walking and running. As well as that, make sure it tracks both types of exercise separately. Good pedometers usually wait until you′ve done a small amount of the same kind of exercise before they begin counting it.

4. Can you customize the pedometer? It’s important that you can enter your specific body type, weight, movement style ..etc. This is essential if you′re going to track distance and calorie burning with any degree of accuracy.

5. Can it store enough information? It’s unlikely you′re going to use it for one day and then not need the information it collects again. If you′re a keen walker or runner you′ll almost certainly be keeping track of your performance over the course of several days, weeks or months. Check your pedometer watch can store at least the amount of information you need to work out how much you are improving.

That probably covers the main technical issues, but of course you′ll also want to check you′re getting the best price. Don’t forget to find out if there’s any special deals on offer, especially around the holiday season.

Pedometer watches are a great invention. I like them so much I’ve almost stopped using normal pedometers. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with them, it’s just that the convenience of the pedometer watch is so much handier. I think you′ll like them too.
