Kids screaming, boss on you back and traffic jam! Just what I need.

As a therapist I′ve seen all kinds of stress and what the effects are on both men and women. Here are some quick at home things to help in you stressed life.

The most effective solution is to find and address the source of your stress or anxiety. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. A first step is to take an inventory of what you think might be making you “stress out”:

What do you worry about most? Is something constantly on your mind? Does anything in particular make you sad or depressed? Keep a diary of the experiences and thoughts that seem to be related to your anxiety. Are your thoughts adding to your anxiety in these situations? Then, find someone you trust (friend, family member, neighbor, clergy) who will listen to you. Often, just talking to a friend or loved one is all that is needed to relieve anxiety. Most communities also have support groups and hotlines that can help. Social workers, psychologists, and other mental health professionals may be needed for therapy and medication.

Also, find healthy ways to cope with stress. For example:

Eat a well-balanced, healthy diet. Don’t overeat. Get enough sleep. Exercise regularly. Limit caffeine and alcohol. Don’t use nicotine, cocaine, or other recreational drugs. Learn and practice relaxation techniques like guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga, tai chi, or meditation. Try biofeedback, using a certified professional to get you started. Take breaks from work. Make sure to balance fun activities with your responsibilities. Spend time with people you enjoy. Find stress-help books at your local health or stress reliever pills with stress managment.

It’s easy to lose weight initially with any exercise program and good eating habits. You see results more quickly and right away. This is great motivation, but then your fat loss starts to slow down and you don’t see the results. It’s hard to continue when your reach this plateau.

It’s natural to lose weight easily at first and then to start to slow down. Don’t lose faith though. It seems harder but it doesn’t have to be. You can reach a 100% or your fat burning goals and keep it off by training smart. Add variety and increase your intensity temporarily to shed the extra pounds.

Lack of persistence makes it difficult to shed the last few pounds or to reach your final goal. Once you reach a certain weight you may be inclined to stop trying and say your happy with what you’ve accomplished. And eventually you start to go back to your old habits and give up before your reach your initial goal.

Don’t give up before your reach your goal because this can have negative long term effects. It will be even more difficult the next time you try to sick to your goals. Persistence to stick to your goal will help you develop good habits of following through and will give you a positive morale boost.

Most of the time the problem isn’t that you don’t work hard enough but that you may just be training wrong. Cardio alone is a great way to burn extra calories but not the best way. Strength training with long rests between exercises can be inefficient use of your time and less effective in burning fat.

The most effective way to burn fat and keep it off is by combining both cardio and resistance and also by adding variety and increasing intensity. Never stick to the same workout for more than 6 weeks.

Performing the same exercise routing for more than 6 weeks leads to a plateau because your muscles adapt by being more efficient. Therefor your body requires less energy to perform the same routine which in turn burns less calories. So it’s crucial to add variety and vary your intensity.

For example if you walk everyday at the same pace for the same amount of time, you start to lose less weight because your body has adapted. Adding intervals is a great way to challenge your body. Add a few minutes of walking at a faster pace or increase the total time.

If you perform the same exercises and intensity when strength training, add more weight or try variations of exercises to work the same muscles. Rotate different exercises every 4 to 6 weeks by adding variety and make sure you increase your intensity as they become easier. You’ll keep your self challenged and continue to burn fat and keep it off.

95% Of Supplements Are A Waste. Get Ripped Abs Secrets

First of all I have tried everything! You name it I tried it and I still didn’t have those rock hard abs you see in the infomercials. Here there isn’t any hype just facts and secrets the rockers, pills and lotion sellers don’t want you to know.

So trust me when I say that for the most part, about 95% of supplements are a complete waste of your hard earned money. I′ve been approached by supplement companies in the past looking for me to promote their products for them, and offering me a lot of money to do so.

Well, you know what I do? I tell them to shove it! Seriously, I won’t promote something to my readers that I don’t honestly believe in.

The fact is, I′ve learned over the years through my own experience, as well as hundreds of my clients and friends experiences with supplements, that they are really just selling you the dream that their pill or powder will be some “magical” solution to your struggle with getting that lean ripped body that you’ve been wanting for years. In reality, most supplements do nothing at all to help you improve your body.

Don’t get me wrong… I′m not totally bashing supplement companies, but like I said, about 95% of the products they promote are worthless, and won’t create any noticeable changes in your body. I will admit that there can be a place for meal replacements for people that can’t find the time to prepare or pack all of their real food meals.

I also admit that I do think a high quality, fast digesting protein like whey protein can be useful to mix into your post-workout smoothies. And fish oil products are generally beneficial as well (if they’re from a reputable company).

But the fact is that REAL FOOD is ALWAYS better for you than processed supplements (as long as you choose the right foods). Anybody that tells you otherwise has either been brainwashed by all of the propaganda and super-hyped up ads that the supplement companies have spread throughout every magazine on the planet, or they have financial ties to selling supplements in some way themselves.

Below are some of the only supplements I would stand behind!
