What fragrance do you prefer?

It is amazing to me how there are so many different fragrances on the market today with there own distinct aroma. Each fragrance has its own appeal to the consumer that buys it whether it is a richer scent or a more modest scent with a sweet aroma.

Each fragrance will appeal to a consumer in its own way based on how the scent is perceived by that person. So wha is it that drives a person to choose a specific scent?

Along with the large selection and variety of fragrances, the cost varies just as much. Everything fro the very high-end to the low-end and it because of this I believe the selection is narrowed down a bit.

As the average middleclass American comprises the majority of the selections by designers like Ralph Lauren and Nautica ranging fom $10 to $100 dollars there is an extreme. The Imperial Majesty which list’s at near $215,000 per bottle I am sure is nice, only a few can afford. Scents by Chanel and Versace are near the mid-range of cost and are equally as nice.

After a price range is established by a consumer, the next deciding factor is what scent is what arouses the senses most. What “taste” does an individual have for a fragrance is just that; a preference. Another way to put it is the same deciding factor goes into fragrance selection as it does for food preferences or anything else that is individualized.

It is interesting to look at the trends behind who buys what type of scent. Age and cultural factors for example are two easily distinguishable classes that tend to have a comparable preferance with in the group. So even though there is no exact science behind it there are trends that suggest broad patterns.

As I read through many articles and researched trends and why we buy what we buy, I have concluded this; we like what we like.

The bottom line is that there is a huge variety of all types for all price ranges. All you have to do is to try a few until you find one that fits your taste and arouses your senses.
