Why Instant Fat Loss Doesn’t Work!
Millions of people want to lose weight, and everyone wants to find the easiest, fastest way to do so with the least amount of work. The latest scheme for this is known as ‘body cleansing’, or a ‘cleansing diet’. They pull you in with seductive claims of how being fat is not your fault, and if you just take a few little pills you’ll be completely fixed and never have to worry about being fat again.
The truth of the matter, is that this is plain out not right. For a specific example, there’s a product recently that claims they can get rid of obesity by removing the “dangerous worm” called Paragonimus Westermani. They have some horrible pictures of the worm, and of what it does to you, but fail to leave out one important little fact… the only way it can get into you, is if you eat freshwater crabs. Live. When was the last time you ate a live crab? It’s not the sort of thing I do, and certainly not something I would do every few weeks, yet these people seem to think that this raw crab eating is common.
The best thing you could hope for when following one of these body cleansing schemes is that nothing would happen, while in fact what is far more likely is that you would end up with some major problems. If you did get rid of all the bacteria in your gut, you would be completely defenseless to all the usual dangers that they normally protect you from.
Think of your body as a fortress, and all the bacteria as an army. Like any army, they need food and supplies, and so they consume a small amount of the food you eat. But this is only a small amount, and if they didn’t do it you would be wide open to attack from all the bad bacteria out there that want nothing more then to kill you and eat you.
As a matter of fact, one of the ‘cleansing’ sites I looked at gave a picture of what they said were plaque spots on your colon. It would have been terribly convincing, except that they left on the little tag in the corner of the picture, which identified it as an image of candidiasis. Candidiasis happens to be a potentially deadly disease, which is caused by…. lack of bacteria.
That doesn’t seem very clever. I’d think that someone who claimed to be a doctor would know enough not to make a mistake like that, but I guess they’re not as smart as they think they are. Personally I would not want to take the chance of trusting myself to the hands of someone who can’t even tell one disease from another.
It’s entirely up to you of course, but for myself I would rather stick to good old fashioned dieting then take the chance on some new scheme that probably won’t work, and might even kill me. I know, I know, dieting is hard work. Well, anything truly worth having takes effort, and even if it’s too much work I’d still rather be fat then dead.
The cleansing programs offer a lot of big promises and claims, but they’re all either scams, or ignorance. If you want something that will really work, talk to your doctor or dietician, and stay clear of the crazy new schemes that haven’t a hope of working.
