Sanyo has an entry level massage chair called the SR-1000K. The SR-1000K has many of the same features as some of the higher end chairs made by Sanyo. This product review will discuss some of the more salient features and functions of the SR 1000K massage chair by Sanyo.

What about the warranty coverage provided by Sanyo for the SR-1000K? The SR 1000K comes with three year coverage for the roller mechanism. This is the mechanical system that performs the massage functions for the back, neck and shoulders. Sanyo will also cover the parts for one year and the labor for year. One of the more generous elements of the warranty is providing in home repair for the first year of ownership.

There are two automatic programs designed in the SR 1000K massage chair. The first program is called Relax and as the name implies, it provides a softer, soothing massage. The second program is named Recovery and it is more like a warm down type of massage. Both of these auto-programs work with the touch of one button.

Sanyo has incorporated a stiffness detector in the SR-1000K. The stiffness detector senses tight muscles in the body. It uses technology similar to a lie detector and knows where stress is being detected. The sensor works by you holding the sensor in your hand. The sensor then feeds that data to the computer which then directs the massage to concentrate on the stiff areas detected.

Would you enjoy a good leg stretch now and then? In addition to the manual massage techniques, Sanyo has built two different stretches into the chair. You can select the manual massage technique and then select stretch 1 or stretch 2 and the chair will seamlessly integrate the stretching into the massage program.

The SR1000K also comes with a unique leg rest massager. The leg rest can be used to target the following areas: calves, back of the knees, sole of the foot and the Achilles tendon/heal. The leg rest contains a roller mechanism that massages the calves and the back of the knees. You can flip down the unit and then put your feet on it. This allows you to target the soles of your feet for a nice soothing massage. You can vary the speed of the massage and also the direction of the rollers.

There is a remote that runs all the functions of the SR1000. The design is fairly simple and intuitive for first time users. The buttons are a good size and easy for the average user to push. There are little lights that are used to show the level of intensity of the massage and also the roller width.

The design is different than most massage chairs on the market. We like the fact that the leg rest does not look like the typical massage chair. It looks more like a recliner. The feet can be massaged and this part can be hidden from view. The only strange part of the design is the remote control holder is mounted on the sign and kind of an eye sore. We do like the wood accents and that the chair is fairly thin. Overall, the SR-1000K provides thorough and effective massage therapy. It comes with a great warranty for this price level. If you are shopping for a massage chair recliner, then the Sanyo SR1000K is one to take a serious look at.

Choices In Bicycle Clothing

Match bicycle clothing, protective gear to style of riding and the terrain for enjoyable and successful riding.

Individual Choice In Biking Gear

While mountain bikers, road riders and others face different situations in their specific type of riding, there are similarities as well. Whether a mountain biker rides on the roughest, rockiest terrain or the smoothest paved bike paths in a state park, certain items of bicycle clothing, bike helmets and accessories are essential.

Each individual will make a choice as to the type of gear, color and exterior design, etc. usually based on the amount of money allotted for the sport. Some mountain bike riders who pedal only the sturdiest, heavily built bike over rough ground will take along spare bicycle parts. Others who ride on paved paths won′t need to give so much attention to breakdowns and repairs.

All riders, in any type of biking, should have a couple of good biking helmets, in addition to quality bicycle clothing, gloves, heart monitors, timers etc. Serious bike racers and those who tackle the most challenging mountain trails will probably need pads for the knees and elbows in addition to the best helmet that will fit the budget. Good equipment designed especially for safety and protection may be the difference between finishing the course and looking for assistance shortly after the start of the session.

Some mountain bike events and some road events require the rider to be active after the sun goes down. So the biker may need to invest in a helmet light, a bike light and so on. Tail lighting on the bike is also a must for these special events. It would be wise to discuss lighting and other safety options with an expert at the bike shop to make sure all the options are clear.

Quality Bike: The Cost Of Extras

Some who take on the roughest mountain bike terrain invest in heavy-duty bike wheels and tires, in addition to purchasing a bike with a very durable frame. Bent rims and a broken weld on the frame will stop a biker more quickly than almost anything else that can happen on the trail. It will probably be a good idea to take along a couple of extra durable, knobby tires for those trips over the roughest ground.

Tip: Some mountain bikers have started to insist on protective end caps for the handlebars, to protect the rider from injury during a fall. These items are most often found on straight or slightly curved bars, and are not usually a priority on the more gently curved racing bars. Only when all the proper equipment is in place should a mountain biker head to the open spaces.

Cycling Vs. Running: It’s Still About The Track

Running surfaces have varied over the years, from basic dirt and cinders to modern synthetic tracks that offer the finest facility money can buy.

Running Surfaces

Where do I go from here? That is the question raised sometimes when an avid exercise or competition runner is looking for a place to stretch out the legs for a short time. There are numerous opportunities for the creative runner, ranging from synthetic track surfaces at high schools and colleges, to concrete sidewalks and streets of the city. There are trails in the great outdoors that may be perfect for a running session.

There are some slight differences in choices when the decision is cycling vs. running, since the runner can literally run almost anywhere. Cyclists, on the other hand, have to have access to certain spaces to engage in their pastime. Quite often, city streets are the only alternative.

Because no special equipment is needed, running remains an inexpensive sport and leisure activity. While some choose to invest money in only the best running apparel and shoes, others keep expenses to a minimum. Beyond the cost to the individual, the major expense in running activity is to the school or organization that maintains a good running track. Some tracks, such as those with a “bouncy” synthetic material, are excellent for regular use. Other tracks and the concrete of the city may be the cause of long-term injury. In some case, the injuries stem from a combination of improper running shoes, improper technique and hard, rough surfaces.

Running Tracks

Lawn areas with healthy grass are thought of by some as the ideal running track. This is generally true of golf courses, football and soccer fields, though the runner certainly should talk with a property owner or manager to get permission first. These grass “tracks″ help runners develop stronger leg muscles, among other benefits. If the runner is careful, forested trails can be perfect for cross-country style running. If the runner is careful not to put himself at risk, and is careful to avoid foot and ankle injury, the outdoor experience will be worth it.

Over the past couple of decades, the synthetic track has become the most popular for academic and private training or exercise. This is important in the cycling vs. running debate as well). For years the running track was cinders, asphalt or some combination of dirt and rock. The harder surfaces tended to cause minor leg injuries and pain that, if not attended to, could become quite a concern for athletes and coaches. New running tracks have polyurethane in some form, as well as latex or rubber. Newer tracks have a small amount of impact compared to the running venues of the past.

Some choose to run on the beach, a type of running that will definitely build leg strength, endurance and stamina. Choosing the correct surface and being prepared are two key factors in happy and successful running sessions.

5 Must Have Tips: Purchasing a Massage Chair at County Fairs

One great venue to actually try massage chairs our various events. You can find home shows, county fairs and other types of shows where massage chairs will be displayed. This is a great opportunity to try out some of the latest massage chairs. Although, this is a great venue, you do need to be careful of some vendors. Based on our customers who have purchased at shows and our own first hand look, We offer the following 5 tips on how to avoid key problem areas to find the best massage chair for you.

1. Massage Chair Motors are Vital: You want to find out 2 things. Find out where the motors are made. The best motors come from Japan. They are precision made and long lasting. The motors need sufficient torque to power through the massage, since all your weight is put on them. You also want to ask how many motors they have. It is far better to have fewer high quality motors then many. You want to avoid getting low quality motors or you will have many service calls in the future.

2. Beware of Over Generous Warranties: Many of these vendors promise very compelling warranties. The question is: Will they be here tomorrow to honor that warranty? One way to find out is to ask the salesperson if they have independent internet dealers, (That doesn?t mean their own website or E-bay!). Or even better, do they have retailers that have physical brick and mortar locations (preferable a known chain store). If not, then chances are they may never answer your call down the road for help. (The number you have reached has been disconnected and there is no new number–beep!).

3. Our Massage Chair is made in Panasonic’s Factory: I saw a few salesmen claim that their massage chair comes from the same factory as Panasonic or some other name brand. Of course, there is no way for you to verify this independently. I am sure Panasonic wants their resources to be used to make knock off chairs that are then imported to compete in their main markets at rock bottom prices. Yeah, right, sure! If a salesperson tells you their chairs are made at the same factory as a name brand chair then I think you know the answer. Steer well clear!

4. Import Warehouse at Your Service: We saw a few small time massage chair operators. Ones that import one chair and sell them at home shows or county fairs. We are not saying to not buy from them. Every entrepreneur started somewhere! It is just you need to be careful, that you are buying for the long term and they may be selling for the short term. They usually have an arsenal of electronic gadgets and a massage chair. Basically, whatever you can stick in a container! They will offer you a low price and lots of features, but you need to be careful of how long the chair will work and if they will be around to fix it later!

5. The Deal is Too Good to Be True: Finally if a chair is selling way below market value of a name brand chair. You may be thinking, Wow, I can’t believe the deal I am getting. It is almost too good to be true. Well, we hate to say it, but? Chances are it is too good to be true! Stay away! You’re probably buying a refurbished chair or a piece of absolute junk. You get what you pay for!

You can really get good deals and find some of the major massage chair brands and top models at home shows and county fairs. We just want you to go with your eyes open, so you find the right massage chair for your requirements. It should last you years and provide you countless hours of soothing relaxation. Head our tips and you will be rewarded with the perfect massage chair. Happy shopping!

An Ergonomic Office Chair Suits Any Body Type to a “T

You can tell so much about a person by looking at his or her office. Is it neat and sterile? Piled high with work that needs attention? Covered with loose papers and supplies? Are there lots of personal items like pictures, frames, and pencil holders made by small children at preschool? And what about the furniture? Is it the usual stuff from a big box store or has care been taken in its selection? Is the desk chair old and wobbly or sleek and well-upholstered? Does it look like it was designed to last?

Offices should be comfortable and graced with enough personal items to feel warm. After all, think about the the percentage of your waking life you spend your desk! Who wants to spend a third of each day in a cold, sterile shoe box sitting in a horribly made desk chair? The best thing you can do for yourself-or your employees, is outfit each desk with an ergonomic office chair. While that might sound like a high tech or complicated name, it simply refers to any tool, item, or piece of furniture designed with the human body in mind; it is the science of designing things that are perfect for human use.

It is not really a 21st century concept. Men have always tinkered, improving on the old. There is written testimony, in fact, that the ancient Greeks used the principals of ergonomics to better their workplaces and tools!

In terms of an office chair, ergonomic design used an understanding of the human body to produce seating that far surpasses old-fashioned desk chairs. An ergonomic chair is more comfortable for long periods of time, can be quickly adjusted in multiple ways to suit a variety of body types, is pleasing to the eye, and provides great support for the back and neck.

The difference between an ergonomic office chair and a regular office chair is most telling at the end of the day. Those in traditional chairs rise precariously to go home with barely enough feeling in their legs to walk to the door. They trudge painfully home, looking forward to some Advil and an early bedtime. Those with ergonomic chairs, however, are ready to have some fun!
