Looking younger and naturally more attractive is a challenge for many of us ladies - and for increasin numbers of men out there. When we have smooth, glowing, healthy skin looks we look more attractive and just feel better.

For many of us, as we get older, this takes a little work and the application of anti aging products that give nature and our own natural beauty a little help in the right direction.

The major problem is to find the products that work and which are, to be blunt, a complete and total waste of time. What anti aging products should we use without simply spending 100’s and even 1000’s of dollars on useless trials? We can not trust the media and cosmetic companies to tell us the truth can we!

What we can do is to take a close look at the ingredients that we know are beneficial for the anti aging process and have a positive influence on our skin care regime. And just as importantly, we can look at what they do not contain.

My very first recommendation is that any products we use should be mineral oil free. Mineral oil, a petroleum based product, has been used for decades as a skin hydrating agent. While this sounds like a good thing for the skin, in fact it is not.

Mineral oil works by clogging the skin to keep in water. As we all know, clogging of the skin is not a good thing as it can lead to acne. Its long term use is for just one reason - it is very cheap to produce. I definately don’t recommend its use and I don’t recommend, the usually cheap products, that contain it.

Instead of mineral oil we should be using ant-aging products that contain naturally occurring moisturizers such as jojoba, almond, wheat germ as these do not clog the skin and therefore let out those nasty little free-radical agents.

Another ingredient, the vitamin B complex niacin, has been proven to be an effective moisturizing and anti-aging substance that will restores damaged skin cells. Whenever you see this ingredient you can be sure it will have a positive effect on your skin.

A PH balanced skin care program is essential. It does not matter what type of skin you have, anything other then a PH balanced program and must be avoided. Your products must also be hypo-allergenic and formulated without the use of dyes and chemical fragrances.

Finally, and I am sure you know this already, you will not find everything in just one product. Reversing the effects of aging and keeping your skin in perfect condition will take several products. There just isn’t one single product that does it all (don’t we wish that were not true). You must use a proven system of skin care with products that completely match and complement one other. This is the best way to get the skin you want and deserve in a short space of time.

Is Laser Hair Removal For You?

More and more people are opting for a more permanent solution to body and facial hair. Rather than stick with shaving or waxing, both considered rather archaic methods of hair removal now that lasers are available.

Laser hair removal is something that you can′t do at home, at least, not effectively. Going to a spa for treatment will ensure that you have the best results possible. The trained spa technicians know the best methods to get rid of excess hair and can do it safely and effectively.

What is Laser Hair Removal? The actual mechanics of this type of treatment are quite simple. The light beam is aimed at the root of the hair. This is the main reason to have the procedure done in a spa, since the root of the hair could be at an angle to the actual strand. The heat from the light beam destroys the root of the hair, but doesn′t burn the surrounding tissue.

The reason this works is because the laser can focus on the dark hair, which is caused by melanin, a pigment found in both skin and hair. While it may require several repeat treatments, laser therapy is eventually a permanent solution to unwanted hair. It’s necessary to do several treatments because of the hair growth cycle . . . another hair will be forming when the first is destroyed and this needs to be eliminated, as well. Doing the laser treatment at specific points in the hair growth cycle will eventually create a permanent change.

Are You a Good Candidate? If you’re sick of shaving, waxing, sugaring or trying any number of other methods of getting rid of hair on your body and face, then you might want to look at laser treatment. Most spas offer this as an option, but since it requires special equipment and training, you’ll want to make sure before heading in for a treatment.

Good candidates for laser hair removal usually fall into specific categories. For one, this isn’t a suitable treatment for large areas of hair, like legs or chest, so if you’re looking for a removal solution for a large area, chances are, laser isn’t it. It is, however, very effective for small areas, such as between eyebrows, the mustache area or other small areas with unwanted hair.

Since the light beam seeks out melanin, it works best on those with light skin and dark hair. Natural blondes will have difficulties using the laser treatment effectively since the heat will have nowhere to build. Likewise, with anyone who has dark skin, the laser won’t work very well, either.

So, the ideal candidate for laser treatment has light skin and black hair and needs to get rid of a small area of hair, such as the bikini line. That doesn’t mean someone with a medium complexion and brown hair can’t have laser removal treatment, but you will definitely want to talk to the laser technician to find out if it’s worth it. Those with lighter hair or darker skin may find that they need more treatments in order to get the permanent effect.

Laser hair removalto be repeated several times, but it is eventually permanent and since it removes hair at the root, you’ll find that it leaves no trace of stubble or color beneath the skin and it usually takes a long time for the hair to grow back out. For many people, male and female, laser hair treatment is the way to go.

Sensitive Skin and Facials: Do They Mix?

Despite popular thinking, there’s no reason not to enjoy facials even if your skin is sensitive. The trick is in how the facial is done and also how you treat your skin after the fact. With the right combination, you can enjoy facials without irritating your skin at all.

Gentle Products

It’s very important to use the right products for your skin type when having a facial done. Talk to the beautician ahead of time if you are having a professional one, or take the time to look at your options if you are doing it at home. When doing your own facial, you can even test the products you plan to use on your wrist or neck, to see if they will irritate.

There are literally hundreds of products out there developed specifically for sensitive skin. This doesn’t mean that all of them will be suited to your particular skin, but you can certainly count on them being far gentler than regular skin care products. These are the best ones to start with if you aren’t sure.

Keep It Simple

A facial doesn’t have to be a huge process using a dozen different products. In fact, the more products that you use, the more likely you are to have a bad reaction. So keep it to the basics, an astringent for oily skin, a soothing facial mask and a moisturizing lotion. You can use a warm cloth or steam to help open the pores of the face and expel impurities, but take it easy since heat can also irritate sensitive skin.

Water is your best friend. Not only should you be drinking plenty to keep your skin clear and glowing, you’ll also want to make sure that you wash your face frequently with it. Rinse off any excess product completely before applying another and you will keep the skin problems to a minimum.

Using natural ingredients such as cucumbers on your eyes and avocado or honey as a facial mask can really help your skin, too, even if you can’t tolerate most skin care products. Avoid anything that has acid in it, like pineapple, since this can cause irritations.

After the Facial

Whether you opt for a professional facial or one at home, keep in mind that you don’t need to apply a bunch of products afterwards. In fact, you’ll be far better off just washing with plain water and some specially formulated soap. Adding more skin care products to the mix tends to cause rashes and irritations, which can be very easily avoided by simply sticking to water for a few days after the facial.

Daily Skin Care for Sensitive Skin

You will want to take good care of your skin both before and after having a facial. Sensitive skin is rarely better off left alone, so look for simple products that will enhance your natural beauty without causing problems. One thing to keep in mind is the number of ingredients. A huge list of ingredients probably means you’ll have problems, whereas a skin care product with just two or three ingredients is going to be far easier on the skin in most cases.

Treat your skin with care, wash it every day and make sure that you don’t overtax it when you have a facial. Let it rest for a couple of days before and after the fact to ensure the best results.

Just because you have sensitive skin doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy having a good facial treatment every now and then. You may not be able to do them too often, but once in a while, with the right products, should be just fine.

What is the best wrinkle treatment?

People are bound to get old, and as we get older each year, signs of aging also begin to show up on our facial skin. Aging became visible through the skin because this is the organ that gets easily affected by the different factors of aging.

If you want to have wrinkle treatment to get rid of those visible wrinkles showing on your face and neck, there are lots of treatments that you can choose from. Among the treatments available are surgical procedures like facelift, laser technology, and some are topical and natural like application of anti-wrinkle creams and natural creams with anti-aging effects. Just make sure that you will choose the best one for your type of skin.

In older age, our face starts looking very dull. We can’t blame anyone but our body for this. At this age body requires a lot of time to replace cells. It takes almost double time of what it used to take in our young days. That’s why our face loses all the glow.

The kinds of wrinkle treatments:

1) Laser treatment or the laser resurfacing is one of the treatments available for wrinkles. This can treat people with dynamic wrinkles or the wrinkles that many people develop because of the facial expression they keep using in their day-to-day life. These expressions make the skin fold that leads to formation of wrinkles at older age.

However, this treatment is not very successful for getting a permanent solution to the problem. By this treatment, the wrinkles will get removed for some time but as we use different facial expressions every day, the skin will again fold. New wrinkles will start appearing that will need to be treated again after some time.

Laser treatment eliminates dead skin cells in the skin surface resulting to a finer and tighter skin. The skin tone will also even out after the treatment leaving your skin with a fair complexion. Skin cells cannot automatically do the replacement on its own way. Another laser treatment is required after six months to fully remove the damage.

2) Facelift is also a kind of treatment for wrinkles. It is a surgical procedure done to remove excess fatty tissues and to tighten facial muscles. The procedure is painful so it requires anesthesia to lessen the pains. This is done by separating the skin from the tissue. The fats are removed and the skin is pulled back to tighten it and to produce younger looking skin without the trace of time. Like laser treatment, facelift is also temporary. It requires another procedure after a certain period of time.

3) Another form of wrinkle treatment is the use of creams and other products that are purposely formulated to remove wrinkles or to fight aging. Some are Botox, Collagen injection, anti-aging creams, anti-wrinkle creams, chemical peels, dermabrasion, and Thermage. These products require more than one treatment but it can help you a lot in your struggle of removing the wrinkles from your face.
