Caring for the skin around the eyes isn′t a new topic. Women (and now, men) have been looking for solutions to their eye skin care problems for generations.

Synthetic and chemical-based ingredients paved the way to replace natural eye skin care processes. The natural ingredients which were commonly used to treat eye wrinkles and dark circles were replaced by factory-created ingredients.

Everyone wants results and no one wants to wait for them. We all want the solution ‘right now.’ Unfortunately, with some of the fast fix ‘manufactured′ treatments came preservatives and even cancer-causing elements.

Even commercial natural skin care products had to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the homemade versions.

Overwhelmingly, consumers are looking for more natural alternatives to help solve common eye skin care problems, like dark eye circles and eye puffiness.

The proliferation of hundreds of new herbal skin care product lines has made organic and natural problem solvers more popular. But the research has been going on for years. Dermalogica Products were developed in 1986 with the goal of creating skin care products that worked without the addition of irritating and harmful ingredients.

The proven ingredients that are included in today’s natural, premium eye skin care products are plentiful, including:

salicylic acid

- salicylic acid

- benzoyl peroxide

- Vitamin C

Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skin care product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.

A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.

The Dermalogica Eye Total Eye Care SPF 15 contains bisabolol, a derivative of chamomile known to sooth and retexturize the skin around the eyes. This ingredient helps reduce the appearance of eye puffiness and eye wrinkles.

Dermalogica Eye Total Eye Care SPF 15 contains bisabolol, from chamomile, known retexturize the skin around the eyes. Bisabolol helps to minimize the appearance of puffy eyes and eye wrinkles.

Tea is an important part of herbal skin care, particular when it comes to puffy eyes and dark circles. Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair contains green tea, cucumber, arnica (perennial healing herb) and Vitamin A.

Oils derived from herbal extracts are another form of herbal skin care. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, borage oil and primrose oil are some popular oils used in herbal skin care. Some fruit oils (e.g. extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon) find use in shower gels (as a hydrating mix)

Most herbal skin care products do not have side effects (the most important reason for preferring them over synthetic products). And when it comes to the sensitive area around our eyes, its even more important to take the natural or herbal route when looking for eye skin care products that deliver results. Dermalogica Eye Products is one such brand. The ingredients used in Dermalogica Products are gentle, non-irritating, non-harmful, yet incredibly effective.

Can′t ask for much more than that.

Some people think that getting old and developing wrinkles are part of age related diseases and there isnt much you can do about it. This is not true! Even though you can not prevent it from happening, you can delay the body’s aging process.

Nutritions and scientists have found a way to slow down the body’s aging process by mixing some of the Eastern medicine and supplements with those of the Westerns. As a result there are Natural human growth hormone (HGH) products available on the market today. These HGH products help with repairing damaged tissues, generating cell in the bones, support for muscles and vital organs and supporting the body in combating infection and diseases.

However, there are many steps and strategies available to delay the aging process.

Diabetes and heart problems can be controlled by eating healthy diet and exercising daily. Eating healthy and exercising will slow down the progression of the aging process.

Foods that are high in saturated fats should be avoided as they could lead to diseases of the heart. Saturated fats are usually found in meat, eggs, cheese, butter, milk and milk products.

Fired foods served from the fast food restaurant are one of the major causes of heart disease and digestive system problems. Fried foods are rich in saturated fats. It is best to bake your foods than frying. Baked foods have less grease contents.

Exercising is important as your diet. You don’t need to do any exhausting exercise. Just start by walking small distance a day and then gradually increase the distance. Such simple exercise will make you feel lot better and happy.

So, if you do not want to get old all of a sudden, just have healthy eating habits, and exercise regularly — these will delay the formation of age-related wrinkles!

Quite a few of us are constantly being reminded of how old we are by the droopy, dark circles under our eyes. We try all kinds of products, creams, serums, gels, but nothing seems to get rid of them.

There is so much pressure today to look younger, we see celebrities who have a variety of surgeries and procedures costing thousands of dollars just to look and feel younger. Bags under the eyes are an obvious symptom of aging so if youve given up trying the latest and greatest solutions to roll back the years, maybe youre interested in some alternative solutions.

For starters, try transforming your bad habits into better, healthier ones. If you′re serious about your skin treatment, a meticulous regimen of healthy behavior is important. Over the course of our lives, we abuse the body’s ability to repair itself from harmful toxins and substances. Your health routine is a way of helping your skin remain healthy for as long as possible. Every day you follow your health routine, you′ll be adding to your skin’s overall health.

Here is a short list of things you can do on your own or find in your home to incorporate into your daily routine to help reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes:

Grate a cucumber and squeeze juice into a cup. Dip 2 cotton balls into juice and place one over each eye for about 15 minutes.

Use a potato in the same process.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.

In a bowl mix lemon juice paste, tomato puree, orange lentil flour (masoor dal) and turmeric powder.

Apply with a qtip to dark circles, leave on for 15 minutes, and then wash off completely.

Stay away from bleaches and peels that claim to lighten skin.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

Find ways to reduce stress like practicing yoga.

In the morning, tap the skin under your eyes lightly with 1 or 2 fingers. This will increase blood flow.

Don’t scratch the skin under your eyes. If you have to, lightly dab it with some cold water.

Dip 2 cotton balls in rose water and lightly dab around your eyes.

Place 2 cold cucumber slices over your eyes.

Our bodies are sensitive and respond quickly to changes in levels of vitamins and minerals. So try focusing on practicing a healthy diet and if you decide to use a cream or serum to clear dark circles, make sure those products contain natural ingredients.

I encourage you to try these at home and you′ll find your dark circles will disappear over time and your face will become brighter, healthier and younger looking!

Being overweight is no laughing matter because it affects your health plus your self esteem and the longer you stay overweight the more damage is done to your body. Enormous strain is placed on the heart and circulatory system in addition to the other problems cause by the amount of fat and sugar in diets today which usually result in type 2 diabetes.

While weight loss pills at first seem the ideal way to lose weight easily, there are some hidden dangers that need discussing. One of the constituents of some diet pills is amphetamines which can pose a danger if there are already health issues to consider.

It is not uncommon for amphetamines to cause an increase in blood pressure and an erratic heart beat plus other problems which can be extremely serious if not fatal. There are a number of other side effects caused by the chemicals contained in weight loss pills which induce a laxative and diuretic effect leading to dehydration and a imbalance in the electrolyte level.

The human electrolyte level is made up of certain chemicals like sodium, potassium, calcium, glucose and chloride which are all needed to maintain a healthy body but when they are lost through the laxative effect of the diet pills it can lead to heart problems among others. The addictive effects of diet pills is also well documented and many people who use them regularly end up requiring more and more until eventually they cannot cope without them.

The need for medical supervision in their use is justified but ideally a person should be guided towards a healthy diet program that incorporates regular physical activity. It is far better to re-teach someone how to eat healthily and to adjust their eating habits to have smaller more regular meals to increase their metabolic rate and burn off excess calories.

Recent studies from a major university in Boston named Tufts says that fruits are high in antioxidants. They rank the antioxidant value of fruits that are commonly eaten. This measurement is called Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity or for short (ORAC). This test measures the total amount of antioxidants in each fruit or vegetable.

What are antioxidants? They protect agains cellular damage, and oxidation caused by free radicals that are around us every day. They are effective to prevent retinal diseases like macular degen. Some antioxidants that we know of are Vitamin C, E, and beta carotene to name a few. Some people forget that some vitamin antioxidant supplements are very popular but the most important part of the nutrients is in the foods we eat.

Ratings for fruits ORAC units per 100 grams (about 3″ ounces) Fruits: Goji Berry- Up to 25,000 ORAC levels, only certain companies look for the best, Prunes — 5570, Raisins — 2830, Blueberries — 2400, Blackberries — 2036, Strawberries — 1540, Raspberries — 1220, Plums — 949, Oranges — 750, Red grapes — 739, Cherries — 670, Kiwi fruit — 602, Grapefruit, pink — 483

Goji Berries (Lycium barbarum) have long played an important role in traditional Eastern medicine, where the berries are primarily renowned for promoting longevity. They are thought to extend the life of a person through their powerful antioxidant action, thereby protecting them from premature aging. They are used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), where they are believed to enhance immune system function, improve eyesight, protect the liver, and improve circulation, among other effects.

Goji berries contain 19 amino acids, including all 8 essential ones, 21 trace minerals, including germanium (anti-cancer, rarely found in foods), 13% protein, a complete spectrum of carotenoids (the richest source of all known foods), vitamins C, B, E, and essential fatty acids. They contain compounds known to be anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and active against all forms of leukemia. In addition, goji contains bioactive polysaccharides - produced by some plants as an extremely effective defense against attack by viruses, bacteria, fungi, soil-borne parasites, cell mutations, toxic pollutants, and environmental free radicals.
