The concept of using a laser in order to remove hair has been popular for the past two decades. You may not be aware that there are several different types of laser hair removal that people are taking advantage of. They offer a fast and painless way to remove unwanted hair for both men and women. The process lasts longer and it isn’t painful like electrolysis or waxing. Laser hair removal is considered to be a permanent solution to unwanted hair instead of a temporary one like the alternatives.

With the process of laser hair removal small amounts of radiation are administered to the area with a beam of heated light. This results in the hair follicles being damaged to the point where they can no longer allow new hair to grow. Occasionally a few hairs do come back but they are after very few, thin, and very light so they won’t be as obvious as they were prior to the laser hair removal.

The first laser hair removal system was called Nd:YAG - while others existed this was the first one approved for use by the FDA. This particular process required the individual to have the area waxed first, which is quite painful. Next a heated lotion was applied to the hair follicles so that they would be damaged. The skin around the area was not harmed.

For individuals with very light skin the Ruby Laser is the best option. It can also be use at low levels for those with darker skin with out causing damage to the pigment. This is a painless type of laser for hair removal. It is common used to remove small amounts of hair.

For larger patches of hair the Alexandrite Laser is recommended. It can is able to penetrate the hairs that are very coarse as well. This is the most common type of laser treatment used on men. The entire back can be cleared of hair in 45 minutes or less. Some technicians rely on the Diode Laser because it is the least expensive one and it can be used on various types of skin.

The newest type of laser hair removal equipment on the market is the Cool Glide. This is a very expensive piece of equipment as well. It has been known to effectively treat even dark skin without any time of damage. The tip of it is refrigerated so that it offers a cool touch as the work is being done. This is also safer than lasers that use heat to harm the hair follicles because they could damage the skin.

When “Natural” Skin Care Products Can Be Bad For You

Just like many other consumers, you probably prefer natural beauty products and natural skin care products because you’re concerned that many synthetic chemicals in creams and lotions can harm your skin or affect your overall health. But did you know that sometimes even so-called natural skin care products can have a negative effect?

Why Your “Natural” Face Cream or Lotion Can Be Bad for You

This has happened time and again to many people: they buy a beauty skin care product that’s supposed to be formulated especially for sensitive skin, yet find themselves breaking out in rashes or suffering from skin redness after applying it.

Why does that happen, when the eye cream or lotion contains natural ingredients that are supposed to heal — not harm — your skin? Here are two of the reasons why:

Reason #1: It could be that you are allergic to some natural substances. Take tea tree oil, for instance. There’s no doubt that it has numerous benefits for your skin: it helps wounds heal faster and is used in many acne treatment products. However, it can also cause redness and irritation in people with sensitive skin.

Reason #2: The healthy skin benefits of a natural ingredient seem to be cancelled out by other ingredients in the product. For example, there’s one very popular skin firming moisturizer you can find in most beauty stores today. It contains seaweed extract, a natural substance which has been proven to rejuvenate skin. BUT at the same time, the product also contains aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, a kind of aluminum salt. This substance has been approved for use in cosmetics, subject to some limitations. However, there also is concern about its neurotoxic effect on humans.

How to Find Natural Beauty Products You Can Use Safely

First, look for an anti-aging or skin care product containing natural ingredients that pose the least risk of causing side effects. One such natural ingredient is jojoba oil. Because its chemical composition is very similar to our skin’s natural oils, it can be used safely for all skin types without fear of having an allergic reaction.

Second, make sure the product contains sufficient concentrations of those beneficial ingredients. Many beauty companies deceive consumers in this manner; they do include natural substances in their products, but in amounts that are simply too small to provide any real benefit.

Third, learn which ingredients to avoid in a skin care or beauty product. For your own protection, know why you should not use a face cream or body lotion that contains substances such as perfume or mineral oil. By arming yourself with this knowledge, you are better able to find natural beauty products you won′t have qualms using and recommending to others.

It’s reassuring to know that there’s at least one company out there whose organic beauty and skin care products are suitable for all skin types because they don′t include any harmful chemicals. This company, located in New Zealand, produces skin care treatments that contain only clinically-proven safe, effective, and natural ingredients — and in the right concentrations! Visit http://smooth-silky-skin to learn more about how the substances they use can give you the beautiful and healthy skin you deserve.

Fabulous hair is not something only Hollywood stars can achieve. Even simple and ordinary people like us can have great hair that can turn heads wherever we go if we would try the simple tips enumerated below:

1. Find the right salon and stylist

Unless you know how to style yourself beautifully, the first thing you need to do in order for you to have a glorious hair is to find an excellent salon and stylist who will assist and guide you in every step of the way when it comes to hair styling and hair care.

2. Use only high quality hair equipment

Never resort to using cheap hair equipment because the few dollars that you save from buying these will never be worth the damage you will give to your hair. Reliable hair equipment such as a Solano hair dryer, CHI flat irons, and Babyliss Straighteners are some of the choices to consider.

3. Look for the hairstyle that will suit you best

When looking for a hairstyle, be sure to take into account the shape of your face, the tone of your skin, your lifestyle, age and environment so that you find one that will truly fit you best.

4. Mellow exposure to heat

Even if you are using a high quality equipment such as Solano hair dryer, it would still be a good idea to give your hair some rest from excessive heat once in a while. Also, never use a dryer on a sloppy hair and never use a flat hair iron even on slightly damp hair.

5. Moisturize frequently

Condition your hair everyday. Look for a moisturizing conditioner that is ideal for the texture and type of your hair. Conditioning is important because this keeps the hair healthy, moisturized and shiny.

6. Have a change in your do

Having a regular trim is good for your hair because this can prevent split ends. Moreover, it is also nice to have a fresh hairstyle every once in a while so you get a new look that people would surely notice when they see you.

7. Do not wash your hair too often

Shampooing your hair everyday is not necessary especially if your hair is dry and thin. Doing so will only rob the essential oils from your hair that are necessary to maintain its healthy shine and glow.

However, if your hair is greasy or can easily get dirty, it would be okay to shampoo it every other day with a regular shampoo or daily with a mild formula.

8. Stop abusing your hair

Do not expose your hair to constant heat, especially out in the sun during the hours of 10 am to 3 pm when the UV rays are strongest and most harmful. Do not tie or braid your hair too tightly because this can damage the roots.

9. Give your hair a healthy shine

To achieve this, try washing and rinsing your hair with cold water because this can smooth hair cuticles, which in turn will reflect more light. You can also use a recommended serum to give your hair a nice glow.

Beautiful hair is not that difficult to achieve if you know the tricks of the trade when it comes to proper hair care and styling.
