There are only a few names in the tattoo industry that are popular and well known. Don Ed Hardy is one of those names. The designs of Ed Hardy come from Don Ed Hardy’s tattoo art designs, and have found their way onto nearly everything, from shirts and pants to Ed Hardy Dresses.

Ed Hardy designs have their origins in Don Ed Hardy’s tattoo art. Don Ed Hardy, who gained his printmaking degree, started out as a tattoo artist, but then branched out into art. He began to use his tattoo art as real art, moving it from the skin to print. This art began to catch the eyes of many in the fashion world. In 2002, a company approached Don Ed Hardy, and wanted to turn his tattoo art designs into a full clothing brand.

The designs that make up Ed Hardy’s fashion line and interesting and different, but are the exact designs that have made Don Ed Hardy famous and original. His Japanese influenced art designs create an interesting edge for the clothing line. Because his designs are edgy and carry a rock vibe, the fashion line carries the same hard edge style. The designs and prints found on Ed Hardy dresses are different than what many expect to see on an every day type of dress.

The colors of tattoo art are known for being both muted and bold. While some of the colors may be pastel and relaxed, other colors are bright and loud. This staple of tattoo art design has found it’s way into Ed Hardy’s dress line. The patterns use both types of colors to create contrasting looks, which help to keep the hard rock edge of the brand. The Ed Hardy dresses feature multiple types of prints some prints are large, and cover the entire dress. Other prints are small, and are patterned on the actual dress itself. These prints are always “in your face” and loud this is the style across the entire clothing line of Ed Hardy.

Ed Hardy dresses seem to be somewhat of an oxymoron for many people who hear of them. They cannot believe that dresses can feature the designs of Don Ed Hardy, or the hard, edgy style of the Ed Hardy Brand. While these dresses may not fit the attire of a black tie event, they are certain great pieces for those who wish to have a night out on the town, or those who simply want a day type dress for their trips to the mall. These dresses add a unique flair to any wardrobe.

At first, people were skeptical about Don Ed Hardy’s tattoo art design crossing over into the fashion world. The Ed Hardy brand has made a splash, especially with its bold and edgy dresses. Many people had a hard time imagining the bold designs, prints, and patterns on a dress. This boldness is what makes the Ed Hardy dresses unique and interesting, however, as they have created a new niche in the dress market.
