Weight Training Tips To Push You Past Your Limit

One of the biggest difficulties facing bodybuilders is how can they be sure that all muscle fibers have been recruited and exhausted during a given exercise and it is only by achieving this that muscle gains can be maximised.

The simple answer is, you have work beyond failure and experience a higher level of training intensity than before. This also ensures that workouts remain challenging and continue to engender progress over time thus reducing the likelihood of regression. But how do you go about intensifying your training? Fortunately there is a tried and tested path to follow as outlined below:

1. Increase the resistance of the weight you are using - Meaningful increments in the weights slowly pushes your body a little bit over the point of failure each time. Aim to reach 6 to 8 reps of an increased weight without failing.

2. Change up your exercises - All the muscle fibers in your body must be trained for maximum gain. Introducing a new exercise or changing the angle of a previous one (incline press etc) will help you achieve this.

3. Take shorter rests - taking shorter rests between exercises makes your muscles work much more intensely as it has had less time to recover.

4. Pre-exhaustion - when an exercise involves two or more muscles the weakest will prevent you from working the primary muscle to failure. The answer is to first isolate and tire the primary muscle before immediately moving to another exercise that works the set of muscles to failure.

5. Introduce supersets - this involves performing two exercises for the same muscle group without a rest interval. This means you have to utilize different muscle fibers which stimulate greater growth.

6. Do partial repititions - You will not be able to complete the full range of movement for any given exercise once you reach the point of failure. Using only a segment of the lift by doing a partial rep will work your muscles beyond the point of failure. It allows you to increase intensity without adding extra routines that could cause overtraining.

7. Use isometric contractions - this involves holding the weight still at the point of failure to stimulate a static contraction in the muscle.

8. Do one more rep than possible - Going past the point of failure by doing one more rep will need the help of a friend. Once you have reached the point of failure, your assistant can help you go just past the point of failure to complete one more rep.

Mind Power For Burning Fat

When I was in school, I worked out a couple times per week with a friend. Once, another friend named Jason joined us. And I do emphasize ONCE.

I just cant motivate myself to work out, Jason told us. The only way I can is if I listen to the music from Rocky.

My friend had a good laugh at his expense, but my first thought was: So what?

If he needed to hear a certain kind of music in order to workout, then why not just do that?

If it works, go for it.

I work out in the morning. Always. And I usually recommend the same for everyone else. But if you find you can only get rolling in the evening ” go for it.

Some people need to eat a little before training, and some can only go on an empty stomach. Some of my best workouts were when I was feeling hunger pangs.

I also can′t stand a cold gym. Others love it. I like to wear heavier clothes when I workout, some prefer as little as possible.

The key idea is to do what works for YOU. Figure out what kind of atmosphere, schedule, and clothing helps you stay in shape as easily as possible.

You might wonder why some people look lean at first glance. But when you take a second look, they got those undesirable round waists rolling out of their hips and stomach. Those protruding rolls in the belly area means they got some loads of fat unused. Those are called love handles. You don’t want to have those, do you? So get yourself into losing love handles because it simply looks ugly.

There are things you need to understand about losing weight and keeping in shape. One is that it’s not something that happens overnight. You have to know which exercise is best to lose weight. Losing weight means losing love handles. Then you have to know what exercise that builds muscles in your tummy. You also have to understand that working out doesn’t only mean physical fitness. Diet is important too. Once you start working out, you are supposed to be changing your lifestyle.

- You can’t lose love handles overnight. Experts will tell you this. Burning down your fats and building muscles take time. More so it requires hard work and patience. There are many exercise programs about losing weight. But you don’t even have to consult a trainer for this. You can do this by jogging, brisk walking, swimming, or engage in other sports to keep you in shape.

- You have to develop muscles on the abdomen. Why? Muscles are responsible in performing physical tasks like walking, chewing food, household chores, etc. When it’s confined with fats, slowly your performance becomes inefficient. You may not notice this right away but in the long run you will, especially at old age. The stomach area is where the excessive fats are mostly stored. Your love handles start showing here. Losing love handles in this area should be done by doing abdominal exercises. Keeping the muscular abs burn them.

- Physical fitness also includes nutrition. If you are serious about staying fit and healthy, you should know this. Diet is always part of physical fitness. Food is the only source of nutrition. If you are not careful about the type of food you should be enjoying, you may be at risk in getting the wrong fats in your body. The human body needs fats. But it only needs enough to support its daily activities. Therefore losing love handles also mean eating the right food at the right time.

- Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Now you got all the basics covered. Exercise regularly, tone your abdominal muscles, and eat the right kind of food. But there’s one more to take note. Doing all this is not just something you do for a short time.

Losing love handles may all be about determination and consistency. This is simply because the human body never stops storing fats. More so, the older you get, the easier it is for it to stock the fats in. Therefore you must not stop. To do this, you have to think of this as your new lifestyle.

Why is it so important to shed those fats? Not only is it ugly but it’s not healthy too. Stored fats in your belly will eventually cause heart diseases if unattended. So the next time you see someone with a flabby waist line, think about yourself. If you have them, it’s either you are living an easy-going unhealthy lifestyle or you’re just being plain lazy. Using Your Mind To Get In Shape

Back in high school I lifted weights a few times per week with a friend of mine. One day a third friend named Jason joined us. But it would only be for a single session.

“I can’t workout unless I’m motivated,” Jason said. “I need to listen to the music from Rocky.”

It was funny to hear. But then I started thinking to myself: So what?

If Jason had to hear Eye Of The Tiger to get psyched up, was there anything wrong with that?

If it works, go for it.

I work out a little after I wake up. Mostly I say others should do the same. But if you’re more of a nightowl, make that work for you.

Some people need to eat a little before training, and some can only go on an empty stomach. Some of my best workouts were when I was feeling hunger pangs.

I also hate any kind of gym where the air conditionings cranked to the max. Some people love it. I like to cover myself up when I work out, lots of people prefer spandex ” including some who really shouldnt have the privilege.

It comes down to not thinking, “I HAVE to do such and such” thinking that’s a negative. If a certain condition helps you out - follow that to the letter. If you need a cold atmosphere, lots of noise, and heavy clothing to stay in shape in the afternoon, do that. If you prefer lighter clothes in a quiet room right after you wake up, do that instead.
