A lot of fad diets will propose to people to increase their meat intake, especially the ones that recommend low-carb diets. The Atkins diet is an example, which recommends you to follow a diet which is high in fat and low on carbohydrates. The reason for doing this is that increasing the amount of protein intake is the confirm way to lose weight, and that meat is the best source of protein. But is that really true? In this article I will tell you how far meat can help you lose weight.

Fad diets such as Atkins and the like often play on the ignorance of people. The truth is very much different than what the proponents of the fad diets would have you believe. As a matter of fact, you will lose weight by burning more calories than what you consume, not by increasing your protein intake!

Besides, not every type of meat is good for your health, and some can actually make you gain weight. For example, meat such as pepperoni, ham, bacon, salami, fried chicken, etc., contain a high amount of calorie content. Do you think you will achieve weight loss by increasing your calorie intake? Absolutely not! On the other hand, you will add to your pounds. That is why I highly doubt that a high amount of meat consumption will ever help anyone to lose any amount of weight.

If you eat a lot of meat frequently, it will block your arteries and damage your kidneys, not to mention that it will also damage your digestive system because when you consume meat, it tends to rot in your colon. There is more! Meat not only poisons your bloodstream, it also causes harmful diseases such as diabetes and cancer. As you can see, meat is not at all your friend!

Also, to get all the protein from your meat, you will need to eat it either raw or boiled. If you cook meat with all kinds of spices, meat consumption will do you no good because a lot of protein is being washed away during the cooking process! If you think that a high protein intake will indeed help you lose weight, then also remember that it is always the amount of protein that counts, not its source. Also remember that you will be able to get far more protein from natural foods such as seeds and nuts than meat can ever offer! These whole foods will give your body all the protein it needs, while at the same time not harming you in any way!

What Is The Three Days Diet?

The 3 Day Diet dates back to 1985 and today can be found all over the Internet and on book store shelves. The three day diet and its variants boast quick weight loss, a cleansing of the system, lower cholesterol and increased energy all through a specific metabolic reaction that no version of the diet has ever proven.

The diet goes on for three days and then off for four or five with lots of specific and cryptic steps so that when it fails the dieter can be pinned for doing something wrong.

Breakfast on the first day begins with coffee (no sugar), one half a grapefruit, and a piece of toast with 1 Tbsp peanut butter. Lunch is a can of tuna, a piece of toast, and black coffee. Dinner consists of 3 ounces of chicken or lean meat, a cup of green beans, one cup of carrots, one apple, and one cup of regular vanilla ice cream. The other two days of the diet are pretty similar in meal quantity, though the specifics change, for example Day 2 recommends two beef franks for dinner in place of three ounces of lean meat. Supposedly it’s possible to lose as much as 10 pounds in only three days.

Baloney! How’s that for specific? And no baloney is not part of the diet. There is no evidence for the so-called specific metabolic reaction. The only reason this diet would shed pounds is because of the lack of calories in the diet. In fact, because the diet is so low in carbohydrates a person could drop ten pound in three days. Of course most of that would be water weight because carbohydrates help the body to retain water. By the way, losing that much weight from not retaining water is dangerous as the body needs water to survive.

Once the three days end the weight will return, primarily because it’s mostly water. But also because any weight lost from the skipped calories will be regained when the starving diet victim returns to normal, or in this case heavier than normal, eating. Furthermore, such water loss could result in some serious medical problems. But hey, then you’d lose some real weight in the hospital.

The 3 day diet is best treated as a no day diet. In other words, don′t do it.

Does Your Preference Diet Plan Meet These 3 Criteria?

Each and every day I noticed many people asking questions in forums about the latest fad diets, even though they have already joined a weight loss programs. If you are also one who runs after fad diets, I would like to ask you one simple question to: is there a need to look for another diet plan? Aren’t you satisfied with your current weight loss program, and if not, why not? Is your current diet plan not suitable for you? In this article I will explore some of the possible reasons why you may not be able to lose weight.

1. Are you unable to stay away from your favorite foods? You know, I have been there and done that. Once under a diet, I decided never to touch the so-called ‘forbidden foods’, but I broke my resolution on more than one occasion. My question is - do you want to find out the best diet plan simply because you are not able to get rid of the forbidden foods and therefore unable to lose the amount of weight you would like to? Do you really think that there is any diet plan that would help you lose weight without restricting your food intake in any way? Before you say no, let me tell you that more or less, almost all diet programs come with their own restrictions. The best diet plan is one which places the least amount of restrictions on your food habits. In my opinion, if you ever find such a diet plan, you better stick to it throughout your life because it is worth its weight in gold!

Remember that in order to lose weight, all you need to do is eat healthy foods. Placing unnecessary food restrictions on yourself will do you no good. Depriving yourself of your favorite foods will force you to start binge eating, and over time, you will gain far more weight than what you started with!

2. Do you loathe figuring out calories all the time, throughout your life? You know, I too hate those diet programs that require me to know the calorie content of every single food item that I eat, as well as count calories of every piece of food that I have for my dinner. It is maddening! If you have ever counted calories, you will agree with me that it is not only tedious and dull, but also extremely frustrating. Calorie counting at once makes the otherwise simple weight loss plan look a lot more complicated, which in turn discourages you from achieving your weight loss goals. Consider for instance, what will you do before visiting your favorite fast food restaurant? Would you plan your meal months or weeks in advance, or try to figure out whether the foods that you are going to be served with contain more calorie than you are allowed to consume?

3. Does your weight loss plan burn your wallet? The ideal weight loss plan should burn your fat, but there are some others that will burn your pocket instead! You should never join those expensive weight loss programs that require you to buy special foods from them in order to lose weight. As a matter of fact, you don’t need to eat any ’special’ food’ in order to lose weight. You can get all the healthy foods you need from your local grocery store!

As you can see, the best weight loss program should be one that would impose little or no food restrictions, wouldn’t have you to count calories all through your life, and would be quite affordable at the same time! Have you found such a diet plan yet?

Beware of Free Trials for Diet Pills

I’m starting to see more an more diet pills scams hit the market. And many of them are following similar tactics, so I thought I would write an article about one of the primary methods that some diet pill companies are using to scam consumers out of their money: The Autoship. This method seems to be working since we′ve seen more and more companies using this same sales tactic.

So what is an autoship program? Basically it is where the company agrees to mail you supplies (usually monthly supplies) of their product to your home on a regular basis and then charge your credit card when they ship the products.

So what’s so bad about it? It sounds pretty nice and convenient right? Well, it is. If that’s what the consumer wants, then there’s nothing wrong at all with sales practice. Please note, that I am not saying that all autoship programs are evil. An autoship can be good or bad, depending on how the company uses it. Unfortunately, many companies try to trick you into enrolling in the autoship without you knowing about it.

Somewhere along the line, companies (including diet pill companies) found out that they could hide the mentioning of the autoship in the fine print of the ‘terms and conditions’ and virtually no one would know (because not many actually read that fine print) that they were actually agreeing to enroll in the autoship when they made their purchase. And that’s where the scamming started to happen. Imagine their surprise when they started to see what they assumed were fraudulent charges on their credit card. “I didn’t authorize that!” they would say. Oh, but they did. Unfortunately, they did.

It got worse, however, when companies started to offer things for free and get them to accept the terms of the autoship under their nose. Everyone wants something for free, and hence they are able to get thousands to get the “free″ trial and get them into the autoship without them knowing about. A few weeks later, they can start charging their credit card. You can quickly see how many cunsumers they are taking advantage of by doing a quick search on some of the internet complaint boards.

Let’s use a fake scenario to show you some of the nasty details that an autoship can have hidden in the fine print. Our friend John sees a very convincing and professional looking ad for a diet pill. He hops on the website and sees that they offer a free trial. How could he go wrong? It’s free! So he plugs in all his personal info and his credit card number to pay for shipping and handling of the free trial, of course. What he doesn’t know is that 1. they’ll often mention in their privacy policy that they have the right to sell his information to third parties, and 2. they now his credit card info on file to use for later shipments.

Once John submits his request, he now finds himself enrolled in the autoship. John will usually have around 15 days to call and cancel the autoship (which he likely won’t even know about unless he read the fine print). If he doesn’t cancel, on the 15 day he will be charged anywhere from $30 to $100 depending on the product (some even charge you for a 3 month’s supply in advance, tripling these charges). He is surprised and irate by the charges and tries to call the company to find out what is going on and to demand a refund. Surprise! They either don’t answer their phone or they give John the run around telling him to call a dozen different numbers, none of which gives him any answers (this isn’t always the case, but seems very common). And before you know it John has a couple worthless bottles of pills and few hundred dollars in charges on his credit card that he can’t get refunded. Sounds like a scam to me!

Again, I want to be clear that not all autoships are scams. Some companies give their customers an option of choosing the autoship while others do a good job of informing them of the autoship. But there are far too many companies who’s main source of revenue comes from taking advantage of consumers who don’t take the time to read the fine print. So be sure to read the fine print and be fully aware of what you might be getting into. We might not be able to stop companies from dong this, but we can certainly make sure that we aren’t scammed ourselves.

Can HCG Indeed Help You Lose Weight Quick?

The weight loss industry is rife with fads, and every other day, I see a new fad coming up. Even more surprising than the rapid innovation of fads is how easily the common people are accepting these fads without thinking twice about possible repercussions. People hope to lose weight quickly with the help of these fad products, but if you ask me, I never believe in fads, and never will! In this article I will tell you about the latest weight loss fad called HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) and how far it can help you lose weight.

Firstly, if you are wondering that HCG is just another drug, you are dead wrong! It is just a hormone which is already present in the human body. The hormone is found in abundance in the body of pregnant women. This is the main reason why any woman who tests positive for it is definitely pregnant.

Many were not told about the benefits of HCG on overweight people until a notorious author called Kevin Trudeau came up with a book that claimed that HCG can indeed help people lose weight. For those who don’t know, Kevin Trudeau has already spent a considerable amount of time in jail for several violations of FTC guidelines. While Kevin Trudeau claims that HCG is a miraculous hormone that can help people lose weight faster than any other weight loss supplement, there is no medical or scientific evidence that backs up this claim. Not even the manufacturers who produce a synthesized version of this hormone claim that it is beneficial for obese people. It is only a handful of doctors and experts who are claiming that they have proof of its effectiveness on overweight people.

For almost forty years, several tests and studies were done on HCG to find out the truth of these claims. A lot of research was done regarding the effectiveness of HCG on overweight people. No study or research done till date has been able to prove that HCG indeed helps weight loss. So how can the doctors claim the opposite?

Well, in case you don’t know, if you opt for HCG treatment, doctors will also ask you to follow a low calorie diet. So whether it is the low calorie diet or the HCG hormone that is helping people to lose weight we are still unsure. Last but not the least; HCG has been banned in the US long time ago. If you want to purchase synthetic HCG, you will need to purchase it either from the black market or import it from another country, both of which are very expensive for you!

If were to heed my advice, I would recommend that until the effectiveness of HCG is fully proven, you should just follow the old method of healthy food plan and exercises. Health food plan doesn’t mean that you will have to diet; just eat lost of raw vegetables and fruits, and drink lots of water, and make sure that you avoid the fatty and junk foods as much as possible! This is a sure way to achieve weight loss.
