We will not use an instant fix here. We will do things methodically, using science as our source. So there′s no need to worry because you won’t be subjected to experiment.

We can start using the basics first then apply tactics later on.

If smoking is your habit, quit it. Cigarette smoking does a lot of bad things for your body.

And if you are really earnest to lower your blood pressure, you should start watching your diet. It is best to use a diet of whole grains, lean meat, low-fat dairy, plenty of vegetables (minus the cheese and butter) and fresh fruit.

Vitamin C improves the elasticity of the arteries and veins, contributing to good blood circulation.

Studies also reveal that supplements with essential fatty acids, when combined with regular exercises, help regulate blood pressure. The fatty acids from whole grains and fatty fish are best. Keep away from flaxseed, borage and primrose oils.

The fact is, try to get a fish oil supplement that has ETA. ETA increases the elasticity of the arteries to lower the blood pressure.

Lastly, use garlic tablets. Take it at night. It is known to lower blood pressure.

Get a brand that is NOT deodorized. Do not be a victim of marketing tactics of deodorized garlic. Allicin gives the odor of garlic but it also provides the health benefits. Use coated garlic instead. You get no odor but you also get a garlic tablet that works.

Do you think you will never abuse your children? Think again. Depriving them from eating fish by simply not including it in their daily diet would most likely mean abuse as well.

You are not excused just because you don’t like fish. You are old enough to know the consequences of your choices. Your child is different. He does not know what he’s missing if he does not eat fish. But you do, and it’s so inconsiderate on your part to deprive them with this privilege.

It’s time to cut the crap. Come to think of it, it would be best if you will simply do something about it. That is, learn how to encourage your kids to eat fish.

Take it from me; I know that children will most likely follow instructions if you will teach them by example. Usually, they do what we do and they live with this until they are teenagers

At an early age, the best way to teach your children to eat fish is to start eating it too. You might not want its fishy taste, but that’s because the fish you have probably bought is not fresh or was not prepared properly or you are not yet used to the flavor. You can do something about it. Here’s how:

Non-fish eaters say that fish tastes fishy, or so they thought. Of course, fish is fish and will never be like chicken. But the reason behind its fishy taste, if ever there is, can be attributed to its preparation or its freshness. So to avoid fishy fish, always go for the freshest catch.

Start with a fish cookbook. Keep on trying all fish recipes until you have found the one you and your family will love.

Studies show that it is best to work on mild tasting fishes first. Don’t start with the salmon even if it has the highest content of omega 3 fatty acids. It’s best you start with sea bass or the grouper first. Eventually, you and your family will get used to the fish taste and will soon appreciate salmon.

Getting your kids to eat fish and hitting it all right from the very start can make a big impact. In our own experience, we started introducing fish to our children when they were just 6 months old. We gave them fish oil on a spoon. By then, they are already chewing the capsules on their own. And now, fish is definitely one of their favorite foods. And so, we are confident that whenever we go out, there is 80% probability that they will order fish.

Alright, so your kids are old enough to know that food for them means pizza, pot pies, and TV dinners. But it does not mean that it’s the end of the world. Just give them tough love and stick with what you believe in. Be firm with the meals you prepare. Feed them with fish and that’s it. They will eat if they are hungry anyway.

Just remember, you are doing this because you want them to be healthy and live life longer. So why don’t you give these suggestions a try? Keep in mind that eating fish influences your child’s behavioral development as well. And you know that if everything goes well, you will benefit from them too. Just teach your kids to eat fish. In the end, you and your children will be happy you did.

When and how to get better brain development for your child is essential; many suggest the use of computer programs. Experts however believe that it should be done with timing. It is indeed useless if the child’s brain development has actually closed.

The best time will be before your baby is born up to the time it reaches 3 years old. During this time, you can create a lot of impact in your child’s brain and its capacity to learn for the rest of their life.

It may be strange to begin earlier than they’re able to read, write or reason, but studies have shown that these skills are slowly developed even before a child reaches kindergarten.

In the latest research published in Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology [Vol. 42: 174-181], doctors studied 56 babies, as young as 5 days old, and gave them a diet supplement of omega 3 fish oil fatty acids and DHA.

The group that was given DHA definitely had a higher cognitive and motor skills and was able to beat the other group (who were not able to get fish oil supplements) based on the “Mental Development Index.”

Doctors have concluded that an early dietary supply of fish oil with DHA is needed at an early age to assure an improved performance and mental development for full term babies.

Rresearch on premature babies, that was published in the Clinics of Perinatology, . [Vol. 22(1):157-75], established that babies who are not born full term also benefit from fish oil. Those given omega 3 fatty acids with DHA as supplements definitely had improvement in their cognitive and visual development.

These are only a few of the several studies conducted which can give proof that the secret to a child’s brain development is getting sufficient amounts of omega 3 with DHA.

DHA happens to be the richest long-chain omega 3 in the brain tissue. It is said that 95% of all the lipids at birth consist of DHA and forms part of the brain tissues during the pregnancy and during the first year of life.

Women should eat more fish and get dietary supplements of fish oil during pregnancy. It is a good way to enhance a child’s brain development and assures a child’s intelligence and better ability to learn in the future.

Then, see to it that you breast-feed your child during the first year. Breast milk is said to contain rich amounts of omega 3’s for your baby.

A report was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and it demonstrates that even small amounts of dietary fish oil with DHA helps in increasing breast milk content. [Vol. 40, 780-785]

These research results on brain development were enough to convince my wife to use fish oil while she was pregnant and while nursing our children. She also started giving supplements of salmon oil to our children while they were just six months old.

We would remove the oil from the capsules and place it in spoons then feed it to them. Now, we get comments on how smart they are and their good test scores can prove it.

But what can be better is that they are happy and healthy children too. Use fish oil for your kids and you will be glad you did.
