Do you ever wake up in the morning looking like you went a few rounds with a prize fighter? No one wants to show their face to the world bearing dark under eye circles. Before reaching for the newest beauty treatment on the market, try to resolve the dilemma of the under eye circles with a natural remedy.

Why do we have to put up with under eye circles? Many people don’t know the causes. Not getting enough sleep is the first potential cause that comes to mind. Stress can bring on sleeplessness and other conditions that can lead to under eye circles. Dark circles are one sign that the body isn’t getting the time it needs while you sleep to repair itself.

Shedding tears of joy or sadness causes problems under the eyes. Tears are retained in the tissue and dark circles and puffiness result.

Here are a few ways to reduce that look without chemicals.

1. Cucumbers. Waste not, want not is the adage when it comes to natural beauty. Thin slices of cold cucumbers can be placed on the eyes for at least 10 minutes. The juice works as an astringent, removing excess fluid and lightening the area under the eyes. Don′t throw them away afterwards, though. Pop them in your mouth for a healthy snack.

2. Potato slices are good for under eye circles as well. Who ever heard of using potatoes? In old fashioned remedies, potatoes were used to draw out impurities. Here, use thin raw potato slices (washed first). Apply them to your eyes for about 20 minutes. The circles will get lighter.

3. Use mushy bananas. Food seems to be the order of the day as a natural remedy. Bananas contain potassium which is great for the body because it helps restore water balance. Take a ripe banana and mash it up. You can puree it in a blender for a smoother texture. Before going to bed, place some of the banana puree under your eyes like a cream. In the morning, the dark circles should be gone or greatly diminished.

4. Use chamomile tea bags to soothe the skin. The tea bags can be slightly warm (after you brew your tea) or cold. If you want them cold, allow them to cool and place them in a bag in the fridge for about 20 minutes. Cover your eyes with the tea bags for 10 minutes. See the circles begin to fade.

5. Water. Drinking water will never go out of style. Your body is 90 percent water. Dark circles can evolve from a poorly watered body. The usual daily dose is at least eight glasses. Drinking your water (flavored or plain) can stop dark circles in their tracks.

6. Change your diet. If you are not eating properly, your body will show it. Lack of vital nutrients and minerals can manifest itself with dark patches on your skin including under your eyes.

7. Lack of moisture can contribute to dark circles under the eyes. Natural moisturizers contain ingredients like avocado and almond (nuts contain Vitamin E). Cut out the middleman and use pure avocado or almond oil on the area.

Dark circles are horrid at any time. Try natural remedies to get rid of them.

As of today, anti-aging creams are very popular in women who are really concerned of their aging skin. These anti-aging creams can actually help women whose skin is already aging. Anti-aging creams can actually reverse the signs of aging and can give solutions to problems related to aging such as wrinkles and sagging. However, at present, not all anti-aging creams are effective. There are some that just look effective but in reality won’t give any positive result. Thus, before you go and shop for an anti-aging cream, be sure first that you already know what to look for in an anti-aging cream so you won’t be wasting your time and money.

Normally, anti-aging creams that are proven to be effective contain vitamins that are good for the skin, particularly when taken orally. These vitamins include:

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is the most common vitamin added to effective anti-aging creams. Of course Vitamin A is good for the skin, even for an aging skin full of wrinkles. It has ant-inflammatory effect and so can actually diminish the depth of wrinkles.

Vitamin C

Like Vitamin A, Vitamin C is also good for the skin, even for an aging skin. By improving circulation and collagen production, it can effectively brighten the skin. And it is highly effective antioxidant which is perfect for maintaining a skin at its best. This can also help renew the skin, making it more youthful looking.

Retinoids

Retinoids can be also good for the skin. Retinoids improves the production of new cells and can make skin becomes smoother. Retinoids can also reduce fine wrinkles appearance. However, of course this can only be possible with continued use. If use is stopped then skin will again look like as before when there’s still no application of retinoids.

AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy Acids or Fruit Acids)

AHA (alpha-hydroxy acids or fruit acids) is really good for the skin most especially to an aging skin. AHA improves the process called skin’s natural renewal process by getting rid of dead skin cells. AHA paves the way for a brighter, more vibrant looking skin.

Are Your Cosmetics Dangerous? Use Safe Cosmetics.

It would be reasonable to assume that we don’t need to ask the question, are our cosmetics safe? Safe cosmetics should be taken for granted shouldn’t they? After all, we have a government and corporations that look after our interests?

Sadly no. Neither the government or the major cosmetics companies take steps to ensure that our cosmetics are safe, and as a result there is a whole range of dangerous cosmetics and skin care products on the market which contain dangerous ingredients including lead, 1,4-dioxane and paraben.

The FDA doesn’t test the ingredients found in mainstream cosmetics, and so the big brand companies can, and do, put anything that they want in their products. The government doesn’t protect the women of America against corporations that are prepared to use unsafe ingredients to sell their products.

This is now such a problem that there are whole organizations set up to raise public awareness about the risks of dangerous cosmetics, and the need to find a source of safe cosmetics.

Sadly though the government isn’t listening to the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics, and the cosmetics companies aren’t listening either. There is nothing being done to protect US women from dangerous ingredients found in mascaras, bronzers, eye shadows, lipsticks, blushes and more that women here are using daily not realizing they are taking a risk with their health.

There’s lots of examples, here’s 2.

The Campaign For Safe Cosmetics initiated laboratory testing of major brand name lipsticks in 2007. The report was astonishing. More than 50% of big brand name lipsticks, including some of the biggest names that you may well use now, contained lead. And you’re not even immune if you buy the most expensive brands, they were represented amongst the lipsticks that contained lead as well.

And in 2002 more tests found Phthalates in the majority of 72 major big brand beauty and personal and body care products and cosmetics, including products from Christian Dior, Revlon and Calvin Klein. Phathalates are a family of industrial chemicals that are linked to defects in male reproductive organs and birth defects.

And included common household use products like shampoos and toothpastes as well as beauty and cosmetic products.

Despite the fact that Phthalates weren’t listed on the labels they were found in 52 of 72 products tested.

Now is that scary or what?

So should you just swear off cosmetics? No not at all. There are excellent and safe cosmetics available but they aren’t made by the big brand names and aren’t found on the shelves of your local store. They are made by companies that are prepared to evidence their commitment to making safe cosmetics. They have signed a pledge on the website of the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics evidencing their commitment to making cosmetics using only ingredients known to be safe.

And the companies that make them aren’t household names, in fact chances are that you’ve never heard of them. But their products, including their safe cosmetics, are first class.

Getting Rid Of Acne: A Guide

You know what it’s like. You wake up in the morning and look in the mirror to see new pimples on your face. Almost everyone has had acne, but few know how to really deal with it. Unfortunately, there is no easy, fool proof way of preventing acne, but I can share a few tips that I’ve learned about.

Keeping your skin very clean is the first key to acne prevention. Oil and dirt will cause acne by clogging up your pores. By using cleansers and astringents to wash away this oil and dirt.

One important thing to remember: never pop your pimples. This might seem like a way to sole your immediate problem, but it can lead to unslightly scarring later on.

Make sure that you keep your hands away from your face. If you touch your face, you transfer acne forming dirt and oils. If you must touch your face, be sure to wash your hands first.

What you choose for your diet can be an important step in the fight against acne. There is evidence to suggest that certain fatty foods can make acne worse. Ironically, there is some research to suggest that ingesting a good portion of healthy omega 3 fatty acids can lead to better skin. Omega 3 is commonly available in the form of fish oil supplements.

A dermatologist is an option if your acne is really flaring up. They have special medicines and treatments that might work better for you. Of course, these often have unwanted side affects, but it may be worth checking into if you have a really bad case.

There are also natural acne remedies to consider. Possible treatments involve different herbs and natural cleansers. It is very possible that these may work but I have not used them.

Unfortunately, there is no fool proof way of stopping acne. However, you can keep things from getting worse by following these instructions.

People spend thousands of dollars on treatments and products hoping to stay young forever and trying to prove that anti aging products do work.

The creation and study of anti aging treatments and supplements is a hot topic in medicine right now. And sure there are some products that will act against the aging process.

The question is how do they do to stop aging? First of all let take a close look at the two most popular ingredients in anti-aging creams and lotions: Vitamins and Natural Enzymes.

There are certain types of vitamins and certain compounds can be very effective at fighting the signs of aging like dryness, discoloration, wrinkles, frown lines and sagging when used on a regular basis, as the studies have shown over and over.

Antioxidants are sometimes know as the anti aging vitamin that fight free radicals, which are the product of the oxidation process.

Oxidation is a natural process that causes free radicals to build up in the body. Free radicals can break down your immune system and they can also make your skin look dull, saggy and discolored as they build up over time.

Antioxidants destroy free radicals in the body and fight the signs of aging on your skin, which is why they are a key ingredient of many anti-aging creams and lotions.

Using natural vitamins and enzymes to combat aging has been a large increase in the number of skin care companies in the past few years.

The natural vitamins and enzymes are more effective than unnatural chemicals. The manufacturers of anti aging vitamin know that the customers are looking for better and more natural products.

In the past, anti aging creams and lotions were made of chemical ingredients. But today?s consumers are more aware of the effect of chemical compounds on their bodies and on the environment and they are demanding natural vitamin and plant.
