Despite all, one has to bear in mind that successful outcome of the hypnotic sessions is not solely dependent on following what you had read in books or just be listening to the DVDs tutorials. First of all, you must also give yourself time for your sub conscious mind to “imprint″ all the messages that you have been feeding it with. Secondly, You must also have the resolve and determination to change. If you lack these qualities, your sessions will not be fruitful.

In order that you can master Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), you will need to be well versed in some of the skills listed below:

1. Calibration: This refers to the ability to read people’s mind. There must have been occasions that people assumed that you are angry while in fact you are feeling quite all right. In those instances, these people misread you, in other words, they did not calibrate you properly your feelings. Calibration refers to reading what inside a person’s mind regardless of the physical appearances maybe. A good example of where a situation involves a lot of calibration is at the World Poker Championship. Here the players are constantly trying to read what is in the other players mind to see who is calling the bluff.

2. Detection of patterns: Patterns are the base of NLP. But there often lies a confusion regarding the exact implication of the word “pattern″. In simple words, pattern means the prediction of events which are to follow, based on what has happened. For instance, a child may observe his dad to eat his breakfast at 8 in the morning. He notices this continuously. The next time, when it strikes 8, he predicts that his dad would come out for breakfast, and he does! That’s it, the child has been able to detect a pattern. Then, this skill of pattern detection must be applied for bettering your performance.

3. Proper Questioning: There is a direct correlation to quality of information that you will receive based on the type of questions you ask. As such, you need to be able to frame a question properly to get the right kind of information that you need for your analysis. Ask precise and specific questions, which are relevant to the subject matter in question. You must be clear in your questioning and not ask a question which is capable of more than one meaning.

4. Reading the other party’s eyes: Search for “eye accessing cues” on Google if you do not have a fair deal of idea regarding eye accessing cues. As far as my knowledge is concerned, this term - eye accessing cues - is used exclusively in NLP. As you become a master of this skill, you will be able to relate to the other person, and feel what he might be thinking. You also will be able to appreciate what they might be thinking about at the back of their mind.

Please bear in mind that the four skills explained above does not represent the entire list that you have to master. But they are the main skills which are a person need to master if he wish to be a competent NLP practitioner.

You can always do it yourself. There are loads of books, DVD’s and CD’s available for you to learn from. Attending seminars on the same will help you learn it all practically. But you have to constantly keep taking action for the therapy to act effectively. That’s it! Stop pining right now and get to work.

Studies have shown that an average individual only harness ten percent of their minds’ abilities. No one knows the actual level that can be tapped by an individual. Nevertheless, we are already achieving tremendous progress just by using a tiny portion of our abilities. Imagine what else we can achieve if we can tap 100% of our mind powers.
