This a time of great opportunity! Read the newspapers, look at the television news and it’s hard to believe. This a time when most people are thinking of survival, not opportunity! Opportunity is the last thing on their minds - but it should be.

What is happening to the world? It’s difficult to make sense of it sometimes, but this sort of thing happens very rarely. Actually it’s a ‘good thing′. Why? Because the ‘old order’ is being given its marching orders. They have been seen through. We have had enough of greed and corruption. The interests of the many need to prevail over the interests of the few.

We can complain all we like about the reasons for our predicament, but it won’t get us very far. We know where the blame lies, but chasing them down is a waste of energy. What we all have to do is to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and get on with creating a new moral order and a better and more just future for our families - and to make sure that we have safeguards in place to see this doesn’t happen again.

The readjustment that is now taking place will be the beginning of a new world order with more transparency and hopefully a better understanding of mutual self-interest.

This is all good stuff, but what has it got to do with opportunity and losing weight? The simple answer is everything. Why? Because it’s all to do with change. The world is changing and so must we if we are to be able to play our part and be able to benefit from the future.

The obesity epidemic which has been sweeping the civilized world is a symptom of our unhappiness and the state of society. Of course it has other causes, but we have allowed ourselves to become flabby physically - and mentally.

What we all have to do now is to make change. There really isn’t any alternative any more. If we are to survive and prosper, we have to change our ways. We have to become leaner and fitter. If we do then there will be a whole host of opportunities for us to grasp - and we’ll be able to make the best of them.

Making change as far as your weight is concerned is all about identifying your old behaviors and learning new habits, slim habits. This is the way to make real change and achieve permanent weight loss. Answer the challenge and the new world will be your oyster.

How to Tell a Fad Diet from a Real One

Did you know that over half of America is overweight, and a quarter are obese? That’s right, 65% or 127 million people in the US are overweight. That’s a lot of fat people, most of whom are probably working searching hard to find a real way to lose weight. So are they not trying hard enough, or do the diets not work?

I think they try, and follow diet after diet, only to have none of them work out. That’s because there’s something essentially wrong with all of these diets. They focus on making you lose as much weight as fast as possible, and give no thought to proper health or nutrition - the result? They work great for a week, and then you gain more weight then ever.

However, there is a solution. A small number of tell-tale signs can let you know whether the diet you’re looking at is the real deal, or just another fad. Here, I’m going to show you what to look for, and how to know if a diet will really work - before you spend a penny on it!

The first thing to check is the guarantee. If there’s no money back guarantee, don’t bother. If it doesn’t help you lose at least a little weight within the first month, it’s probably not going to work and you might as well send it back.

Besides the guarantee, you should also look at how much time you need to notice the effects. Surprisingly, the longer this time is the more likely the diet is to be real. If they say anything more then 10lb a week, I’d get suspicious. The best diets usually offer 5lb or less weight loss per week.

How fast can you safely lose weight? 14lb in 14 days is of course possible, but it’s a terrible idea, and it is certainly not possible to maintain it. The best diets will not give you any guarantees of time or weight, because everyone is different, and there is no way to know for sure how fast someone will lose weight, no matter how good the diet may be.

Of course, not every diet is like this. Sometimes, you can lose weight very quickly. For instance, I knew a woman who wanted to lose 60 pounds. She started going to the gym every day, and working out hard for three hours. At the end of the first week, she had dropped 20lb. Now, that’s rather a special case, but it shows what can be done. these diets aren’t telling you to work out though, they’re telling you to sit at home and eat. To me, that seems like a bad idea. It’s just common sense - food goes in, you never use it, what happens?

If they say you don’t need to worry about the amount of food you eat, then it’s either a scam, or they want you to gorge on completely non-nutritious foods so that you feel full, while getting absolutely no benefit. that is incredibly unhealthy, and can often cause serious permanent health problems, much worse then just being overweight.

If any dieting scheme promises slow constant weight loss, with a reasonable timeframe, then it’s probably real. If they offer a good mix of workouts and recipes, then it just might be worth giving a try. Just make sure you stay clear of anything telling you to avoid a food group, no god can come of that. There’s no magic bullet for weight loss.
